ALL FLUID SERVICE PRICING / SPECIAL NEEDS?

2023 Base 4 door 2.3L, 35k Mi.

I received dealer pricing for a fluids service:

Lube, Oil and Filter Service - $172.42
Transfer Case Fluid Service - $333.00
Transmission Service, with Fluid Filter and Gasket - $1488.66
Brake Fluid Exchange Service - $310.54
*Coolant exchange - Didn't get pricing

Questions:
* Do any of these require a dealer, with some special equipment?
* I saw the Trans fluid replacement needs you to cycle it on or something to adjust the level of fluid you swap in.
* I read somewhere the brake fluid also needs some specific steps?
* Any recommendations?

I understand most of these are not required until over 100k miles.
I also had a Escape trans implode on me at 60k miles, so i figure why not replace all the fluids.

Honestly, you could probably get an extended warranty cheaper than doing these aggressive service interval fluid exchanges.

There is a fair amount of software involved for fluid changes, its not as easy as dumping in new fluid. It can all be done DIY, many service manuals available on this website. OEM fluid is expensive though so still going to spend some coin...

Shop carefully, you can get good supplies for an oil change for $60. Take it to a local place who will do it with your supplies for $25. (Thankfully I live two blocks from just such a place, a place that's been there under the same ownership since I was in high school.)

That's what an oil change should cost. $172? Lessee...carry the 1....so the dealer wants 2x what it should cost. That's $87 toward his boat payment.

When you try to claim a warranty

“Oh, umm, that particular part seems to be excluded. And that will be a $175 diagnostic fee”

Maybe I didn't explain it good enough: That you COULD get an extended warranty for what they're saying that would cost. To wit:

A few months back I had the diffs, transfer case and engine lubes changed when I got my Ford Performance diff cover put on, PLUS five tire rotation, at the dealership. Cost? ~$800 And I got roasted for overpaying, considering I maybe coulda done it myself for $300-400 and a few hours of my time.

Maybe that gives some perspective.
