There seem to be so many versions of this color. I really like the picture of the Bronco in the first post but I’m not sure if that is it.

I love this color.
Im concerned about scratches. We have trees with thorns here in Texas that will pinstripe the crap out of the paint.

I think the length of the body on the Super Duty makes AMB look better as well. You can see more of the blue hues fade in and out. I think this color will look better on the 4 door Bronco vs. The 2 door

Just my .02c

Wow, thank you! That's going to look amazing on my 2-door.

I drove though the local Ford lots yesterday looking for this color with no luck.

From what I understand of country music, you also have women who will do that to your truck and/or dog as well.

The color will look great in that Texas sun! Here in the Seattle area, that color is black 95% of the year. No matter how you want it to look, it's just going to be black. (Sunrise was at 7:30 AM and Sunset today was at 4:30 PM, a solid 9 hours of overcast skies and rain. We'll get that under 8 hours of daylight before the solstice)

So my history of wanting blue but getting black will effectively continue

I've been AMB since Day 1, but I keep reading about "swirls" on dark cars, so I had to do a little investigating.

Apparently, you can avoid the swirls by washing your car the right way, and even if you mess it up, you can correct them with polishing. I'll probably get a ceramic coating early on so I don't have to worry about it so much, but it's good to know that the swirls aren't going to be as much of an issue as I thought. Also leaning toward touch-free car washes.

These two sites in particular seemed to have the highest "good information to ads" ratio:

Guide to Detailing: How to Deal with Swirl Marks
. It's an affiliate site with links to products, but there aren't a bunch of popups.

Autoblog: Can automatic car washes damage your car? Few ads, no pop-ups.

I have never really taken an interest in washing my cars in the past - for me, it's always about function and where it can get me, never about appearances - so this is all new to me.
