Not a tuner car but already sold off my Mk7 GTI after I first got my reservation, been nice not having a payment.

A bit off-topic, but how was your experience selling to Carvana? A guy I know reached out to them when selling his car. Although he ended up selling local, Carvana gave him a nice offer.

I still have my OG domestic tuner car I bought new in 2002. Cougar with V6 manual black on black.

Finally! Someone in this thread who doesn't have a Golf or WRX!

Have you 3.0-swapped it yet? I had a '99 SVT Contour with a 3.0 and Torsen LSD, that was a fun car, sold it in 2009.

Current fun car:

Swapped in a Ford V8, thrashed mercilessly. Autocross, rallycross, drag racing, road courses, everything. Buying a crappy car I didn't have to care about to have fun with was the best decision I ever made, and I've now owned this car longer than any other car in my life.

I was real happy with the deal and highly recommend them every chance I get! It's all online and they'll come back with an offer, if you choose to take it they'll schedule pick-up and either bring you a check or e-deposit it. You don't even have to be out there when they pick up if you don't want to be, just leave keys on the seat, the driver does a quick walk around, loads it on the truck and is gone.

Beautiful. I have always wanted to buy a GT3 but I have to pay off the student loans this year and the hours within the next four. Priorities are not aligned unfortunately and it sucks being responsible. Some day soon...

A lot of beautiful cars in here! I'm getting rid of my 2018 F150 to get the Bronco, my "tuner" car is safe. Modded and tuned to around 430hp on E30, sitting on Megan Racing coilovers. Eventually, I want to upgrade the turbos, meth injection and upgrade the intercooler. Looking to get 500-550hp when I'm done. Unfortunately, the Bronco is probably going to cut into some of that modding money as it's going to need it's own mods too. 😂

Best part about my tuner car, is that it's my year round daily. Transports my kids around comfortably and safely, I've hauled lumber and lawnmowers in it. Taken my grandmother to doctors appointments in it. And when I'm by myself, I've surprised quite a few Camaros and Challenger/Chargers with it.

My 2014 Flex Limited Ecoboost sleeper.

I love those stickers
Thanks! I thought they were hilarious but I ended up taking them off a few months back. Drew too much attention to my "sleeper". Had every kid with a car trying to race, had a Saturn rev at me at a light and a Cruze follow me on the express way filming me with his phone. Figured it was time for those stickers and the "Turbo Toaster" sticker to go.

Don’t ever call it a tuner car, but this was my $23,000 sacrifice to the Bronco down payment gods. 2002 Trans Am Firehawk with 45,000 miles on it. Sold in September. RIP

Modded and tuned by Unleashed Tuning. 2.5 bar MAP sensor, colder spark plugs, 170° thermostat. Run a 93 tune in the winter, E30 tuned in the summer. The E30 tune rides the limit of what the stock high pressure fuel pump can handle. So next step would either be water meth injection or upgrade to a XDI 35 HPFP and run a full E85 tune. But I'm trying to keep it reliable as it's my daily and family hauler.

I own an 2013 STI and have owned 2017 STI (totaled in an accident RIP), as well as other "tuner" cars including a 350z, Mazdaspeed3, and a couple more. Tuner cars are sort if ingrained in me, and like any other enthusiast, I like going fast! That said, as I have gotten older I find Im getting on that throttle a lot less. I dont really have time for those spirited mountain road drives anymore, and I don't auto-x like I used to.

So, I have been going back and forth on whether or not I want to keep my STI, on which I have coil overs and a handful of other suspension modifications. On one hand its absolutely a blast to drive, it owns those snow covered mount roads on ski trips, due to its amazing AWD system. But on the other hand, being one of the most expensive cars to insure (like even more than a vette for me), it costs me almost double my normal payment to keep it. I know I will miss it, if I end up trading it in, or selling it. Although my Bronco will probably satisfy my lead foot during day to day driving, its just not the same. The big thing for me is the cost of insurance, I know I can afford it, and maybe my insurance would be cheaper if I am not daily driving the thing, but its hard to justify with a brand new Bronco also sitting in the drive way. I love off-roading as well, which I have also missed and haven't been able to do in quite some time, and I know the bronco will do great in the snow when I go skiing, so there's that... tough decision! 🤣

So I am curious, how many of you currently drive "tuner" cars? What do you drive? And what are your plans with you take delivery of your Bronco? Trading in? Selling? Keeping? Relegating to track duty?
I have a mildly tuned 2017 BRZ that I'm keeping. We're trading in our Forester XT. I considered trading both, but I can't part with my little black demon. I love that car, even though it's not super fast. :)

Yep, it is a tough decision; to be sure. No doubt about it. For me however, in the "big picture," whatever car/vehicle you('ve) "have/had," its really unimportant. Like in that old quote:

The best times in our lives were not about what we had, but who we were with.
