This is not quite the same, but I think will get you an idea of what needs to be done. This guide is for replacing the Shift Boot, but includes removal and re-install of the shift knob and reverse lever.

The reason that one is so complicated is because of the short throw shifter, which this is not changing.

I laugh, but to be honest, when I make a purchase from Archetype, I know I'm getting custom work that feels more like artwork than a just a "part" for my vehicle...every time I look at my sidesteps I smile and I imagine that I will feel the same way about the new shifter. Keep up the great work Curtis (and team @EIGHTLUG)!

I love my sidesteps too. Though one of the brackets has unfortunately lost a large amount of its powder coat after only a few months. I'm tall enough I don't see the shiny but the wife keeps pointing it out. I'm confident they'll do something once I finally email them about it.

If you are referring to Christmas in July, maybe. They said at a minimum, two months. Think March, maybe.

Certainly no urgency, but you will still be getting in a two month + line when you do get in line so that would be the consideration. Do you want it late Winter or early Summer.

currently have the boomba knob (hate the obnoxious branding) good otherwise. even cooking in the summer sun it is still usable. how bad are these going to be?

also ordered the white bread machined with reverse lever, hoping it will heat soak less than the black. looking forward to see what you come up with for the trail sights.
