Question to AR: these look like they're designed for fast-on, fast-uninstall. Am I correct? And if so, are the steps secured to, and removed from, permanently installed clamps on the rockrail, or do we remove the clamps from the rockrails when going off-roading?

The clamps and STIRRUP can be easily removed as an assembly. If you're one of those people that will NEVER go rock crawling or do any serious off road trails, feel free to use blue, or if you want a semi permanent install, red loctite on the clamp hardware.

Installed a pair of stirrups on my 2 door Badlands today. They are awesome.

@EIGHTLUG Have you considered using Torx head screws instead of the hex head screws for the stirrups? It would give me a bit more confidence on not rounding out the screw heads.

Yes. You shouldn't be applying much torque at all on those M6 screws. If you're squezzing the rubber out the sides of the clamp like a PBJ sandwich, that's too much. I do agree that you can confidently apply more torque with a Torx drive, though.

I was thinking more along the lines of repeated installation and removal. A Torx screw will be more durable than a hex. Especially with the 5mm hex heads.
