Badlands costs more than Wildtrak? Am I missing something?

I have an existing order for a decked out Wildtrak (Lux, leather, black MIC top). It will be my daily drive and some offloading. After getting a chance to drive a Badlands on the rocks I decided when I resubmit I was going to switch. Configuring a 2022 Badlands the same as my original Wildtrak (sasquatch, 2.7, lux, leather, modular bumper, carbon grey MIC top) the Badlands is over $2k more expensive. Is this expected? And I did add full bash plates to the Wildtrak (standard on Badlands) to level the comparison. It's almost like they want to force me to the Wildtrak. Could the rock crawl mode and disconnect really cost $2k?

Not sure. I originally had a WT up until the roof fiasco and only switched when I heard the WTs wouldn’t let you order a soft top to get it sooner. Seems a lot of people are griping about ‘22 changes to the WT. You may want to see what that’s about.

In addition to the SBD, you're also paying to add the MIC (standard on WT). Edit: Nevermind, MIC shouldn't be a factor.

And to put it bluntly, the BL is really the top trim - WT is just a loaded OBX. Loading up a BL with options basically gets you to a FE.

Gotta have them rear cup holders in the four door. 😁

Yes - the disconnect and associated hardware is probably around $2000.

Watch the ramp index video and decide if that is worth $2000 to you.

Can someone point me to the ramp index videos?

Leather vs MGV was a tough choice. Wasn't sure I wanted the washout floor based on how I would use it. Power seats was another factor. And so we're those rear cup holders for the kids! (Like I said, it will be my daily driver)

I hadn't thought about the Badlands vs FE comparison. That is a good point.

There's also the rock rails, rubber floor, and steel rear bumper.

SBD is something that I might not use often but would help. Is it worth the additional cost? Maybe. I'm also factoring in I was never a fan of the Wildtrak interior color scheme. It's almost like I have to pay more to get the same materials in a Badlands in a color I like. Maybe I will have to go with the MGV.

I wanted to get tube steps on whatever I get since some of my passengers are short. Is there a difference in rear bumpers? I didn't catch that if there is.

Yes unless they changed it for 22. Both BD and BL have a plastic-clad steel core rear bumper. Other trims don't. It's in the big comparison pdf
