So my wife had something similar in regards to the smell in her edge. We searched and searched and couldn't find anything... Turns out she left a protein shake chillin in the back seat door...

PSA Don't leave a protein shake in the car in TX, it smells like a dead animal.

It doesn’t even have to be full! That last sip you just couldn’t get out? And then the shaker got under a seat and you forgot about it…yeah, enjoy THAT smell when you find the shaker bottle!

Hope it doesn't happen to anyone else. A week after I had my wife's Bronco detailed we started to notice a bad interior odor. It got stronger as the days went by and I started to wonder if it was a product the detail guy used. But it smelled like dead rodent so today I started tearing it apart, looking everywhere. Every time I stuck my head through the passenger door it hit the hardest, seemed to be coming from the beam across the door. Popped the hard top panel off and found this poor guy. I think he came in from outside, by the little foam gasket at the rear of the panel. Smell is gone. So is the dead bat.

The ole detailer put the smelly bat in the car so you bring it back for an over charge fee.

My F150 ( bought it from my Mother in Law when Pop passed) sat in the driveway in the woods for a month before I bought it - the mice loved that thing -chewed the fuel line just enough so when I started it the fuel went everywhere . Had to tow it and have the fuel lines replaced (had to drop the tank to do it) - lesson learned - if not driven daily, put moth balls on top of each tire...

the best part is that most people have multiple shakers, so they "lose" one in the car and it's no biggie and they forget about it...ALL SUMMER LONG!!!!!!
