You know, I guess I just jumped at the chance to dump those ugly stock rims....is there some reason I'd prefer them?

Steel rims will bend but seldom break. That means they may be repairable on the trail, and might I add that they are lovably ugly. To me the whole Black Diamond theme is understated capability. This trim is not flashy; it is the embodiment of practicality. Just my $.02, hope it helps.

I was always a "pretty rims" guy but reading posts out here I decided to stick with the stock steelies on BD. Kind of a retro, rugged look.

You guys had me excited for a minute on the optional wheels getting the multi terrains. Look closely.

Hello Black Diamond (BD) enthusiasts. I just joined this thread as of Friday after Build and Price went live. I was in the Big Bend camp to save money and priced a Black Diamond since I don't want to wait for ManSquatch. Came out with a truck that was only $600 more than the Big Bend when similarly equipped. The CFO approves and can drive the BD while I drive the 1970 (5 speed).

I've decided on 4 door bd with sas PKG, mid pkg, and 2.7 auto. Thinking either area51 or velocity blue, possibly rapid red. Gonna stick with soft top until they have better color options for hard top.

Here's a picture of a A51 BD with the optional aluminum rims and the GG ATX tires.

I’m a big fan of this picture, great angle.

I’m going to stick with the steelies and see what the aftermarket has to offer for better wheel options. The aluminum wheels from Ford aren’t bad, very clean but just don’t tickle the fancy. The Grabber ATX is a pretty solid tire hopefully that’s locked in for the BD when they start coming off the presses.

Does the Black Diamond come with standard rear steel bumper? I believe I had read somewhere, but the B&P seems to have eliminated that (along with rock rails).

? BN does the *best* photography and water marking....

Tire companies need time to gear up for a production run this big.
The GG was locked in quite a while ago.

I hope that is a glitch in the B&P.

All over the ford site it says black diamond comes with front and rear steel bumpers as well as rock rails.
So let’s hope that’s just a misstep on the build and price site.

Edit: although the rock sliders aren’t that big of a deal for me.
I will likely go aftermarket for a set that sticks out a bit farther and attaches to the frame.

Imagine spending $50, $60, $70 thousand dollars with a company that does not even offer a source to clarify conflicting information.

Its no wonder Ford is struggling to survive.
