So, here's my (revised) dream:

That is the best news I've had since Monday. My reason for going with the 2-door BD over the Badlands was to hopefully stay under $45,000 after tax. Ideally, I would sub the Sasquatch Package for the Mid Package 1:1 but try to trade up to the 33's, as I'm not a crawler, other than fallen logs over the forest service trail.

Anyone else having second thoughts about the BD? It’s a great package, but the more I look at the Badlands, the more I want that better front axle and lower gears. Front locker I can go either way on.

I guess for a $6k savings I can always regear.
Unless you're a hard core off roader I'm not sure the upgrade to Badlands is worth the 6K. I've spent hours analyzing it and I know won't be doing anything super rough off road and the BD should be just fine. I could rationalize the upgrade for 2-3K. 6K is prohibitive.

We have a tendency to over think things I believe (I'm extremely guilty of this) and don't realize that even a base BD is far ahead of anything every straight factory produced to go off road on. Twenty years ago you had to spend a lot of time and money on aftermarket to get a vehicle with similar capabilities the BD will come off the showroom floor with.

I would argue the vast majority of us won't do much more than some regular off road trail riding that won't be extremely challenging to the vehicle, encounter snow and mud, and general around town driving. Step above mall crawling but not hard core rock crawling enthusiasts. Bet the vast majority of the broncos will be significantly over equipped for what will be asked for them. However, it's always nice to know that should you decide to go hard care, the vehicle you own can answer the call.

Yeah, I tend to overthink it too. When I bought my Tacoma, I replaced all the suspension, regeared, added locker, etc. from the beginning, so I started with a base model. I’m hoping to mostly leave the Bronco factory, for awhile anyway.

Ford has said they wanted to provide a vehicle from the factory that would be comparable to what people have been building aftermarket wise for the past 50 years. I think they've done that and more. Quite impressive.

That would be great, I will do the same. Did you see that the Silver Lake Bronco Takeover was cancelled (yesterday) such a bummer; I was hoping to go for the first time, my truck wasn't ready for it the last 5 years. I hope they do a dream-cruise like Bronco parade along the Lakeshore.
Yea. I’m over the whole SLSD (happens when you spend every waking moment there growing up), so I know it sucks but it wasn’t a tragedy. I would much rather be out on the trails across the state.

I'm down for a Black Diamond. Seemed like a very reasonable upgrade cost for the options included.

Somewhat debating changing to Bad Lands or adding the Squatch package - depends on total pricing.

If the rubber floor was an option on the base model I'd probably go that plus the squatch package.
It amazes me that we all seem to be having the same problems... I reserved the Bad Lands but now I am wondering whether or not the Black Diamond would have been a better option or not.

Haven't reserved yet but my ideal Black Diamond configuration is:
2-Door
2.3L
7MT
Mid package (safety and insurance reasons, why couldn't they include the evasive steering assist?)
Sasquatch
Cyber orange with black roof (I'll have to see it in person first, If it seems yellow enough I'm going for it).
I like the idea of the white roof with some of the other colors, but it doesn't look like you get the roof rack with that option.

If I can't get the Sasquatch with the manual I'll capitulate. My plan is to stick with the steelies and put on 33" tires (hopefully at the factory) and maybe add the M210 Dana AdvanTEK

Now with squatch not available with manual I'm torn.

I won't buy a Bronco without the locking rear diff. I REALLY want a front locker but don't know if I can justify going Badlands to get that.

My ultimate build would be base model with manual, lockers and rubber flooring.

I reserved a 2 DR Black Diamond on Tuesday and got a call from dealer about a minute afterward.

Thinking velocity blue or the cactus grey (which has a nice earthy vibe to it, at least the way I see the color on my own screen.)

Considering Sasquatch, mid, and the paint matched roof, plus some other goodies when we see the accessory options wish list.

Had good luck with Fords for 20 years before my current Dodge Ram.

I went with the 2 Door Black Diamond and planning on the sasquatch package. Seems to fit my needs perfectly as a weekend adventure rig for the family. I have a 71 bronco but I don't feel safe taking my kids out in it. I am torn on the colors. I was originally set on Area 51 but now I am back and forth between a few colors.

I actually dug the 8in w bezel over the 12in. the 12 to me makes the dash look flat.

Went back and forth between the BD and Badlands... Still may also reserve a BD, but I think the lack of a high package is a dealbreaker for me. Then again once we know solid prices, the price of the Badlands with options may be a dealbreaker. Time will tell.
