Hi friends,
I've spent dozens of hours researching this topic, however I've not found anyone yet who could answer with certainty. Let's see if I have some luck here ^_^'

I'm looking for a Bronco "straight from the dealer" without any leather in the interior, but it seems impossible :(. After lots of research apparently every single Bronco now officially has at least:
  • leather steering wheel
  • leather gear knob
You can see this on any Window Sticker as "LTHR GEAR KNOB/STR WHEEL". (For example: here)

My question is:
can any of you Bronco owners confirm if the leather on your steering wheel and gear knob is real leather? I know some manufacturers call it leather even if it's pu leather/pleather/leatherette/etc. but I'm not sure what's the case here. I have read forums, asked dealers and even asked Ford Customer Service... and I'm still not clear.

Thanks in advance.

🙏

Hi! Welcome.
I am assuming you're vegan?
I did a quick google search and it seems that Ford does use real leather for their materials (when they say it's leather).

Is that insulting? Not my intention.
Not necessarily insulting (to me), but perhaps just a bit off-putting, and quite frankly not helpful, to someone new to this forum who is just asking a harmless question. We know there are a ton of people on this forum that hunt, and perhaps a group that don't.

I am a simple believer in freedom...and very grateful to be in Merica🇺🇲!
No insult intended, guess I am just another simple minded person asking a stupid question....honestly hope that is not insulting too ?
This is complicated being sensitive.
😳
No. Now you're just reaching for me to come back with some response to trigger you.
Your whole reply is filled with passive-aggressiveness that is not needed.

Goodnight.

Even though my leather wrapped steering and shifter were listed as leather on the build sheet (seats are vinyl), I can tell you it certainly doesn’t feel like leather. That is, compared to everything else owned. If you told me it was plastic, I’d believe you 🤣

Try to find a Base. As it has been mentioned here, the Base has been discontinued but there may be some available at the dealerships.
Our 2023 Base had fabric seats (I installed a set of Mabbett seat covers in it made of PU leather).
The steering wheel is not covered and I doubt the shifter is real leather.
I sold my base steering wheel to install a Wildtrak one so you can also get a model with the vinyl seats and replace the steering wheel.

Wow, people are way to sensitive. We ask "why" all the time when somebody is asking questions about lift and bigger tires. Perfectly acceptable when someone asks a question that is seemingly out of the norm and can also help provide alternate solutions.

So the question still stands. Why are you looking for a leather free Bronco?

I’m with you on this. My badlands wheel feels very vinyl. Shift knob could maybe go either way. The wheel after a year is definitely not wearing like any leather wheel I’ve previously had.

I've had a few cars with leather seats (nothing high end) and honestly they are a less convenient and durable feature than good old fabric seats.
For us that don't have kids and don't get dirty before getting in a car, fabric doesn't get super cold in the winter or scorching hot in the summer and look great after a decade of use.
The Toyota Century, the car that drives the royal family there, comes with wool seats.
We rode in my company's CEO's Toyota Crown and LS500 when he invited us to lunch in Tokyo and both had fabric seats.
