The issue is that the soft top latches contact the Slipstream lid when everything's closed - overlapping by about 3/8". If you look back a few posts you can see photos of the latches and reasons why it's problematic.

Bottom line is that the product wasn't exclusively designed for Bronco soft tops, so compromises must be made.
The product was made with the minimal clearance needed for the soft top to operate.

Our prototype was a soft top. But we have to make products that work for both and to keep your total cost down.
Those who run both hard top and soft top would have to buy kits for each.

I love the security and the install, while long, was straightforward and clear in the youtube video.

Things I don't like:
* the rattling... thought I'd get used to it, but man... it's loud as hell
* the rubber strip that contacts the gate comes off at LEAST once a week
* the latches to lift the back of the soft top are wicked are harder to open

add some extra foam on the frames where the pins go in.

we are looking at some adhesive strips for the tailskin

We have talked about a better latch system (replacing that crappy plastic one) with something billet.

I think you'd get a lot of interest with a replacement latch system, that's for sure. THanks for the response.

I can’t find the original post from someone else that showed this on a different thread but this stuff seems to be so much better than the rubber trim that was sent with enclosure. My piece was falling off every time I opened the back.

I'd be interested in updated rear soft top latches. The OEM ones are pretty flimsy. I attached strap pulls so I could pull the rear down and find I have to pull kind of hard to get both sides latched. I do have the IAG struts installed.

If you're having trouble with the rear skin rubber trim pulling off, you can remove the rubber grommet that's at the top center of the tailgate. I found it was the culprit for pulling the trim off on mine.

Also, I'd love ideas on how to stop the pins from rattling so much, while still leaving them functional. I took some of the hard foam from the packaging and cut it down and shoved it in between the pin hooks and the enclosure to keep the tight, which helps a lot, but not great looking.

My solution to the above problems:

1) I plasti dipped the pins but still replaced most of the them with nuts and bolts. I'm not hauling anything large enought to warrant folding up the Slipstream. And if I do, I'll be aggravated enough that pulling a few bolts won't matter.

2) I used black weatherstrip adhesive and a bag of clothes pins on the the rubber strip to hold it in place while it set. It's not going to fall off anymore.

3) Billet latches - Alan, take my money, please.

Some of the holes/pins are so tight on mine I need to break out clamps to reinsert a pin. I don't get any rattle from them. I wish there was an easy way to align everything so that the pin removal/reinsertion wasn't as much of a potential hassle.

I also went to ace hardware and bought some rubber washers for the pins that aren't as tight and actually have any free movement.

A better latch system would be a great fix.

I'd be interested to see what you come up with for the latches as well. Especially if it includes slimmer profile replacements for the catches on the inside corners of the tail gate. Something that allows a wider range of latch placement.

I've tried inserting foam, and no dice -- there's just not a way to insert enough to stop the rattle with the sizing that fits. Maybe smaller pins with a rubber middle that's indented to keep them in one spot? Whatever it is, I need to fix this -- driving me crazy.

it might be the spring clips that are actually rattling. If you added extra foam, those pins would be VERY tight, almost hard to get pinned in.

we have seen people use Velcro straps linking the spring clips together on the wall.
