I drove 4 hours through the central valley of California.
The windshield and front of the car were completely covered in bugs.

I would not be able to see, if I didnt keep spraying the windshield.
* the factory liquid didnt do anything, its like water.

I never experienced this with any other car!

Questions:
Whats the best liquid windshield cleaner for use while driving?

Whats the best brush for when you are stopped?

THANKS!

Both valid questions but I'll offer a suggestion that doesn't directly address either but may help both - consider a ceramic glass treatment. It won't change physics - relatively stationary bugs will still splat into a speeding vertical pane of glass - but the same reasons that make it easier to clean spooge off of ceramic coated paint apply to glass as well. That can make whichever fluid/wiper combo is in use more effective during the drive and easier to use whatever cleaning solution is chosen while parked.

I would recommend this but that's only because the maker is local and also has a detail shop here, I don't have any interest beyond that. Chemical Guys and all the other players in the auto-care market have competing products.

I've driven thru bug swarms, on an unexpected back road detour somewhere in KS, at night 2-up on my '88 bagger (with truly awful headlights) and I can relate to how quickly those bugs pile up! They don't taste too good, either. 😜

I second the ceramic coating. Should help the guts rinse off easily with the washer spray and wipers.

Also agree with a ceramic coating, makes it far easier to get that junk off.

I put on this film first, to keep rocks from breaking the windshield: https://www.grab-gard.com/products/ford-bronco-windshield-protection-kit

Then right after that, I had partial ppf done, and had the ppf guy ceramic coat the windshield along with everything else. Its a great combo

The green rain x bug remover is the one I use regularly

Deflector really helps. I did gloss black and you can't even notice it but it deflects and pushes air/bugs above windshield.

Does the film give any distortion? I’m thinking on ordering it myself and have my tint guy install it. How has it been so far ?

I agree with those that said ceramic coating. But I also clay bar the windshield first to make sure you're starting with the clearest glass. It takes about 5 minutes.

Applying product to a clean surface - painted or glass - is kind of a given for any effective ceramic treatment. While I can't speak for all of the products out there any of the ones I've considered/used speak to this in their instructions.

I installed it myself, they had a video to follow along, my ppf guy actually recommended I do that. It's been great, by the next morning, I couldn't even tell it was on there. It seems to be very durable so far, I'm hoping to get about 18 months to a year out of it. Guys from my off-road club seem to average about 1 windshield per year, so at 200 bucks or so, this is a lot cheaper than the $1k windshield replacement, even only paying my deductible.

Some have just cleaned with glass cleaner and then ceramic coated. Just mentioned clay bar since it hadn't been brought up.

I have used dryer sheets and it cleans up the bugs like nobody's business. I just wet it and with slight pressure it the dead bugs and splatter come right off. Just be sure to wash it off the residue it leaves behind.
