Panic buttons are the most useless features ever added to cars. And, unfortunately, the panic button on my Bronco fob trips extremely easily in my pocket. I happens to me almost on a weekly basis. Never had this kind of problem with any other Ford fob (and I've owned many varieties including other similar fobs) so I don't know why it's so sensitive.

Please tell me there is a (non destructive) way to just disable this useless feature either on the fob or in the car? I'd also entertain anything like cases that stop the button from being pressed or jury rigging folks have done to stop it.

For some reason, this has never been a problem for me or my wife. And it's not like I've never sat my fat ass down and bumped the button on other keys for other cars, either.

Not useful often, but not entirely useless. There are times you may be able to see your Bronco from afar and have suspect people lingering a little too close. Remotely triggering the alarm might encourage them to F off.

I carry my fob in the coin pocket of any pants that have one to keep it away from other stuff in my pocket, but I’ve still set it off once accidentally in the first 3 months of ownership, so I get it.

Still, I’m glad the feature is there for the previously mentioned reason.

Same here - I tripped mine about once a week before changing to 2 click in ForScan. Since changing to 2 click about four months ago I have not tripped it once.

I hang my fob from my belt loop. Learned early the panic alarm was being activated while in my pocket due to the proportions of my bodacious love staff. It has been a curse my entire life.

Thanks for all who gave solutions to this. Like OP, I set mine off once a week at least. It is a sensitive little bastard.

Another reason why I need to get ForScan. But damn it suck’s I’m going to have to buy a Windows computer for this single purpose. All of our computers are Mac and this is literally the only thing I need a windows laptop for. I’m gonna grab a cheap used one off Craigslist or something.

I'm in that same boat, haven't had a Windows machine in many many years. I'm also a bit nervous about hacking into the system. Had no problem popping the remote apart and hacking it up though.

Yes, most newer Fords. Had the same problem with my Ranger Raptor and my Bronco. Disabled all and that annoyance is gone (2 click might solve the problem too). Somehow these jobs always manage to hit stuff in my pocket. You can add auto window down and up w/remote too. IIRC Bronco comes w/auto down, but no auto up. Nice if it starts to rain and you are upstairs!
