I got both Broncos ceramic coated over the weekend with AvalonKing Armor Shield. See how the product holds up.

I had mine ceramic coated by Bob Moses. I'm very happy. I don't have to spend much time keeping it clean. It sheds dirt, bugs and bird poop and I don't have to wax it, yet it always looks clean. Mission accomplished.

I hand wax mine twice a year and save hundreds of $s.

Yeah, if I had to pay for the labor the ceramic requires, I'd just wax or sealant it as well.

I prepped and coated mine myself and didn't have to touch it for a couple years, (other than regular washes).

Plus it stays cleaner longer between washes than any wax or sealant. A lot of times I'd just dust it off with my leaf blower. So , even less washing required.

It's now due for a mild de-con, correction and recoat though.

Probably my favorite part is having the wheels coated ... they still look GREAT even after 30,000 miles of just regular hand washing.

The process to ceramic coat a car is almost identical to waxing one. I'd recommend buying a decent ceramic coat and applying it instead of waxing it next time
Exactly. It's actually easier and lasts longer. Granted the super high end stuff is expensive but tge cheap stuff works well enough and last twice as long as wax

I apply Griott's ceramic wax twice a year. Paint still looks new, not a single swirl mark anywhere, and I actually spend a good bit of time on trails. For maintenance, touch-less carwash, then quick detail spray. In 2 years, I think I've physically washed my Bronco maybe 4 times.

Any recommendations on 'the cheap stuff'? I have some of the Mothers Stuff - CMX Wash & Coat, and Spray Coating. Good enough? I probably need to also buy the polish & Coat. Or - should I go with a different product line? Thx!

Interested in what the cost was for those who had it done by a professional.

I paid $1300 which included the windows, but not the wheels. They gave me a 6 year warranty.

Ceramic is more a very labor intensive cleaning/polishing process. First a thorough wash and removing all bug, tar, etc. Then clay bar. Then orbital buff/polish with high grade polisher compound. Then finish up with a super good wax and polish. I have done it before- it's a process.

I tend to do paint correction anyway.

One thing: you add wax and polish? That defeats the purpose.

Dont know CMX. I'm just a home mechanic who DIY's stuff. Not a detailer...

Get a clay bar kit at the parts store, wash it, clay bar it, then apply the ceramic coating. The rig isnt that old so it shouldn't have much in the paint. Its not like it's my 68 Mustang that was repainted jn the 2000's and has 20 years of crud in it
