Anybody know the autolite/equvalent # for Bronco 2.3L spark plugs and alternative heat range #s? Looking to try going colder. I know Panda had a set they shipped w/their tuner

I believe Panda shipped these NGK 1 Step Colder Spark Plugs with their tuner. I think I still have the packaging somewhere but won't be able to check until tomorrow.

Looks like the same plug for 2.3/2.7
NGK 6510 LTR7IX-11 is what they use for a step colder

Edit: Nvm I totally missed you are asking for autolite. I couldn’t find an autolite that crosses over to those.

I just asked that because Motorcraft used to be made by Autolite. I have always had good luck w/them, but NGK is a good brand as well. Are NGK what they are putting in from the factory now?

They’re still Motorcraft from the factory. I’m not sure who technically makes them to be honest. Probably still Autolite

I’ve been running the NGK 6510’s for about 10k miles with no issues though

FYI Ford bought Autolite in 1961. Ford then sold Autolite to Bendix in 1973. MotorCraft has been a FoMoCo division since the 1950's. They buy from other manufacturers as OEM parts.

My book has zero listing for Bronco, but 21 Ranger I come up with motorcraft SP-594, and autolite XP-5863. My paper copy that shows heat ranges doesn't go that far tho. Would SP-594 be correct for Bronco 2.3L? I can at least start there...assuming that XP5683 is the equivalent heat range, then XP5263 may be exactly what I want...and that crosses over to your NGK# above

Yes, Ranger and bronco use the same plugs, so if SP-594 works for a 21 ranger, it'll also work for Bronco.

Did you get a chance to check the # on these?
Sorry, I did not bother checking because @Ducati1098 posted what I believe is the correct number in post #3 of this thread. I can still check to confirm though, if you would like.

If I remember correctly from my 2 stroke motorcycle days...NGK was reverse in # on heat range from American plugs like Champion.

I got a set of NGK 6510 and put em in today. Comparing to original, they definitely look colder. Original plugs weren't marked sp-594, and didn't have a Motorcraft # that I recognize. I forgot to take a pic of one, but I will tomorrow!

Yeah OE and even the regular boxed Motorcraft plugs never have the short number on them. Just the regular Ford part number.

The OE ones will either show CYFS-12Y-PT which is SP-578, or CYFS-12Y-RT3 which is SP-594.
The 578’s have been superseded to the 594’s.

Yep, thats what they were! They don't show any sign of lean out...which is good. The amount of red oxide on em from only 10k leads me to believe they are a tad warm for the amount of boost I'm getting. Think the NGK 6510s are a good call at this point!
