Not a sample. A mannequin that my dealer is getting in. I'm anxious to see it and check out a few of the accessories to see if I want to modify my order.

Printed off a sample VIN, not the one for your actual vehicle?

Right, but not for your vehicle. If he doesn't have a VIN, it hasn't been built yet. Mine was built week of 7/21 and I'm hoping for October delivery.

Are you figuring that yours is built but is waiting for a new MIC roof before they ship?

Should be able to just brute force it from there.
I found this VIN guide on another thread. Looks like VIN Position 4 is either ‘D’ or ‘E’, which helps narrow things down. Although my 4-door Badlands is ‘E’, the 2-door Big Bend is definitely lighter, so may be ‘D’?

window stickers are generated 7 days before your build day.
Thanks for the reminder! I now remember this was posted somewhere else.

So you are saying dealers are getting 2 door for regular stock before customer-specific orders...
That’s what the window sticker indicates. And yes, this has already been confirmed. With the part shortages, Ford has moved to producing many stock orders that they could build while holding customer orders, both 2-door and 4-door. Even before the production slow-down and MIC top fiasco, the dealer mannequin orders were in the queue. There is nothing on a window sticker that indicates a vehicle is a mannequin. Usually the mannequin designation is internal to the dealership as per requests and requirements from Ford where they’re supposed to have a mannequin for demo purposes. They’re usually given an early allocation for this purpose that they may or may not get to configure themselves. They don’t have to keep that specific vehicle as their mannequin, they can use any stock unit for that purpose. And Ford doesn’t seem to care about dealerships not holding mannequins right now.

I am pretty sure this vehicle is a mannequin, based on the blend date. Ford was not producing 2-door dealer stock other than mannequins back in June.

Originated with the intention of a mannequin, yes. Used as? Maybe/probably not. Bet they sell it to OP or someone else on their list when it comes in.

Bet they try to get OP to buy it when the FCTP in-service requirements have been met. 😉
