Let me preface my thread by stating I have not converted my reservation to an order. I want to wait for Ford to offer the modular hardtop as I fell in love with the idea of removing my quarter windows adding to the open-air experience. Over the past few months, my new obsession has been the desire of owning a Heritage Edition with a white modular hardtop.
Regardless of my personal choice to defer my order, I still want to be a part of the excitement being an active Bronco6g member and a 2nd hour reservation holder. I began calling around to several Ford Dealerships last week in search of a 2021 Ford Bronco I can see in person and was able to locate a Ford Bronco demo at Sexton Ford in Moline, IL. I spoke with Michael Guyton, Customer Experience Director and Ford Bronco Specialist for Sexton Ford, who was eager to arrange a test drive for two Bronco enthusiasts: me and my four-year-old son. First of all, I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to schedule a test drive with their recently delivered Big Bend outfitted with the Sasquatch Package. Michael grabbed their reservation calendar and was able to pencil me into a timeslot just a few days later. One caveat… Michael asked if I had a reservation/order with Sexton Ford to determine how long my experience would last. Michael stated if I had a reservation with them, my traditional test drive experience could be extended overnight. Unfortunately, my reservation is held elsewhere so we would have to settle for an abbreviated experience but Michael didn’t hold judgement; he was still excited to have us there next week.
The day has come…My son and I grabbed his toy Bronco and headed out to the dealership. As we pulled into the parking lot of Sexton Ford, we were blown away when we pulled around the corner. Michael was there to greet us upon arrival and was eager to show off Ford’s latest accomplishment. We chatted briefly about the Bronco before he eagerly handed off the keys for a private 45-minute test drive.
I won’t go into a long-drawn-out impressions paragraph as there are professionals with much more experience and better adjectives but I will say it was everything we could imagine and cannot wait until we can experience our own Bronco every day.
After our short test drive, my son and I wanted to capture our experience and compare his toy Bronco to the demo. Michael was happy to accommodate our request and staged the Bronco to capture some amazing shots. Overall, our day was amazing. Getting to spend time with my son coupled with a shared Bronco experience and Michael’s accommodations made for an awesome tease to what’s to come.
