Dealer said Molded In Color Hardtop not availble

Greetings all,

Just back from the dealer (1-29-2022), after ordering my 4-door OBX and I was informed that Ford, for the time being, will no longer aloow orders for Broncos with the MIC, Molded In Color Hardtop on both 2 and 4 door Broncos. Evidently, FoMoCo is having major fitment issues, so that option is discontinued till Design can fix the fitment issue. I had to order mine with the soft top, or no order at all.

So just ordering now (with no reservation it sounds like) and you believe the dealer when he tells you no MIC. Could it possibly be that by "trying" to order MIC at this stage of the game would put you into a '24 and the soft top gets you delivered in a reasonable enough timeframe for him to keep the sale?? Just talkin out loud.

I get what you're saying, but when he told me no Hardtop option for the 4-door, I said okay, order me a 2-door, cuz the MIC is standard on that one. 10 minutes go by and I was told no Hartops, period, 2 or 4 door, till Ford fixes the issue.

Right- because there is a 2 year backlog of hardtops ahead of you and they don't need to exacerbate the issue. The hardtop WAS standard on the WildTrak also - now it comes in a soft top standard. Kinda see what I'm gettin at?

and I hope it stays that way...we have seen too many new orders with MICs screwing over long time reservation folks. ENOUGH.

I don't care if some walk in gets a soft top Big Bend with a 4 cylinder but when they're getting loaded Badlands with MICs ahead of us we have a problem

Soft top 4-door lower trim levels can be built in quantity is what my dealer told me last week. Same difference...
