Difference between a reservation and an order?

Can someone define the difference between a reservation and an order? I built a Bronco signed an agreement and placed a down payment on it. I don't have a VIN yet so do I have a reservation or an order?

You have an order I believe. If you went to the dealer and told them your build and they typed it into the computer that's the ordering.

Reservation would be going to the ford website and getting an email that says some day you'll get a bronco.

Id' go into your email and search ford. There should be one saying something like "confirming your order" If you only see things that say reservation give your dealer a call and ask if the order was submitted.

Mmmm I didn't get an email from Ford saying anything outside of a Dealership signed terms paper with the amount of the vehicle, options and receipt for $1000.00 down payment. I am confused.

You have an order. Reservation was a placeholder that (once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away...) allowed you to order with a dealer. Once the dealer is involved and you gave them your build, they input it and it became an order. If you did not have a reservation and just went in to the dealer, you may not get an email from Ford, at least in the USA, not sure about CA.

Contacted Joshua Prieto from Avis Ford at the end of January and put my name down for incoming inventory Big Bend 4 door bronco and it arrived on February 24. Just picked up today. Sold for MSRP out of Detroit, MI. Give him a call and he will hook you up.

Reservations cost $100 a few years ago. (feels weird to type that.) That got you to the front of the line relatively speaking. Anything other than that is a traditional order that could take anywhere from a year or two before delivery.

I am in Canada so God knows if I will ever see one.

I image the import tax for the OP would make that cost prohibitive.
