Has anyone installed the diode dynamics hitch light and also connected it to an AUZ switch? Does not look like the harness is set up for that but I am assuming someone has done it.

4x4TruckLeds can likely set you up with a reverse harness with upfitter switch control - just send a message

There is an aux switch wire run to the rear of the vehicle located behind the PS panel in the load space.

Sure... get the following 2 harnesses. You'll have to tape up the extra lead, since this is designed for TWO lights under the bumper. But just connect it to the hitch mount instead.

You WILL NOT connect it to your trailer harness anymore, instead, it'll connect in-line with your factory tail light (and you can also turn it on from an upfitter)

Reverse Harness w/Upfitter Control: https://www.4x4truckleds.com/crystalux-dt-4-pin-reverse-harness-w-upfitter-control/

This will normally connect to two lights (in your case, the one) and the other end goes up to an upfitter. This has a female DT connector which will connect to our in-line tail light harness here:

https://www.4x4truckleds.com/crystalux-dt-4-pin-in-line-bronco-tail-light-harness-2021-ford-bronco/

The in-line taillight harness plugs in-line with your factory tail light. The other end plugs into our reverse harness. This will activate the light automatically when you go in reverse. The red back-light will be illuminated as well normally as as running light. And if you have the C1R variant the red back-light will get brighter when you step on the brake. You'll also be able to turn the hitch light on from an upfitter as well.

Seems we were pretty helpful here. I'm not sure who you are or what your experience is but you referenced a return issue. Without knowing specifics I don't know what your concern might be. Perhaps you were trying to return a used product or a product outside our returns period. Our policies are pretty much the same as every other retailer that I'm aware of (since we base our policies off everybody else so we're all in alignment). Heck we don't even charge a restocking fee on returns like some do. What's your order # with us so I can check what issues you had.

@Diode Dynamics is there any way to do this without having to buy additional harnesses and not utilize the one that comes with the kit?

You already have a factory aux wire ran from the front of the truck to the rear of the truck...it's located behind the PS panel in the load space. This wire is not powered so at the front of the truck you would need to connect to which ever powered aux wire you like. You could extend this pre-run wire in the load space to power the light but you'd have to cut the light light pigtail to do so. You would also need to properly extend the ground from the light by extending the ground wire to a suitable ground point. If you go this route you will no longer be able to plug into the 4-pin plug.

There's a few threads showing the aux wire locations.

You'd have to make your own wire harness. The hitch mounted light is designed to plug into the trailer harness.

We DO sell the Hitch mounted light by itself AND a harness that could connect to an upfitter. But if you already have the hitchmount kit you'd need to either make your own harness or buy the 2 harnesses I linked above to do what you want to do.

The hitch mounted kit is $99.95 and the hitch mounted light ALONE is $79.95.

So $79.95 for the Hitchmount Light
$45 for our harness

That gives you control over the hitch mount from an upfitter.

If you also want it to turn on automatically in reverse and illuminate the red back-light add on our $25 in-line pigtail.

But really at that point you might as well just go with one of our actual dual reverse kits. The idea with the hitchmount led pod is that it's quick and easy to install using the existing 7-pin trailer connection (That's a $39.95 harness they give you as part of the kit for a $20 difference)

Thank you, and yes I agree will likely go with one of your dual reverse kits. Was really just looking to see if there was a simple solution to connecting the hitch light to an aux switch but I see now that's not what i was designed for.
