Salesman called to let me know this morning my truck has arrived in NJ and expect to take delivery between 8/2 and 8/4. (7/14 blend,7/21 shipped) Cautiously optimistic

From an email I received as a dealership employee Ford states that these vehicles are going through a more thorough Quality Check.

I'm cool with that. That sounds much better than sitting outside on a lot waiting for MAP to reopen, lol.

Both are probably true. Our trucks are sitting in a lot waiting for their "more thorough QC checks"
"More thorough QC checks" means a lot if things. Things that pop into my mind (all theoretical mind you);
It was discovered that a component used in the manufacturing of our trucks is from a suspect lot, so they are waiting on inspection/replacement.
They failed water test (remember the dude with water coming g out from his airbag on the A pillar?) and are waiting on repair
A forklift ran into it and it's waiting on a new door to be built up for replacement.
The stud (or nut) for attaching the instrument panel to the firewall is missing and they have to tear out the whole dash to repair.
Paint scratch.
Failed squeak and rattle test.
I could go on and on...

Back in the day...late '19/early '20...the topic of the time was "secrecy" - I mean Coca-Cola formula secrecy. 'Bout the only 'insider' back then was Carmaker1...who purported to be exec level, or just below.

They were scared stiff about leaking any general dimensions or styling cues...seriously worried about a foreign knock off. How ironic that we sit year+ post reveal....there for sure aren't any knock-offs....hell, there's barely any 'originals'
