pretty simple question, does anyone want ECO mode. If we can get rid of them would allow something like Baja in all models

if you vote yes you want ECO mode I'm curious why

Iā€™d buy a Tesla if I wanted Eco mode. Then I could feel good about burning coal in a power plant to charge a cobalt battery mined by African slave kids in the Congo.

My guess is that ā€œstandardā€ mode will basically be Eco. To be honest I would be cool with an eco mode but with the 10 speed it probably switches to the best fuel mileage gear pretty quickly.

False dichotomy. Baja is obviously a special mode that was always going to require a higher trim. And I'm sure eco mode is on there to establish EPA ratings, so it's effectively mandatory.

Modes are marketing garbage anyway

You want the car to act differently then you use your feet differently

All eco does is flatten the throttle curve a little, it doesn't magically give you better mpg

If it helps at all with fuel economy in daily driver or long road trip situations, why not?

By all appearances, GOAT modes are computer controlled, and none of the controls or display look like they would impose a limit on the number of modes. So there shouldn't be any downside to having an Eco mode.

Now, there is the question of why certain modes aren't offered on certain trims (looking at you No Sport Mode on the Badlands). I am curious why that is.

Ya that's part of the reason for this poll, why on badlands no sport, but it has baja, I am confused
On something like a Escape I understand a ECO mode, but a offroad type vehicle I don't get.

Well I do understand epa rating, but normal mode is just as frugal or wimpy

Ford.com also says the First Edition - which you'd think would have every possible option - also does not have Sport mode. That leads me to believe they designed the software to only allow 7 modes on a given model.

I mean if Iā€™m road tripping Iā€™d probably use it to maximize my mileage, or at least get a placebo effect and *feel* like it was better mileage.

rather just have normal mode as eco mode. daily driving would be eco. fun driving would be something else. our current car has eco mode and i couldn't be bothered to switch to it every time,

I think it really depends on what the modes effect. RS that I had changed steering ratio, opened exhaust values, adjusted throttle response. Similar things for my M3 and my Panigale. Eco mode is nice for when you want to just have a more relaxing ride, so Iā€™m all for them.

Yes on eco mode. No reason not to be in eco mode as much as possible. What am I made of gas?
