I don't have a wind tunnel but from looking at these, it's hard for me to believe they do anything more than protect the surface they are covering. It seems like the overall shape of the vehicle would have a lot more to do with it. Where is Mythbusters when you need them.

I have one installed. I assume the faster I drive the more effective they are?
But I feel mine stays about the same.

Bug splash as usual, maybe a bit less twords the bottom half of the windshield.
It does not stop rock chip. I got a few more tiny ones here and there.

Like I need another reason to drive faster....

I'll end up with a force field like on Star Trek or something.

State Trooper : Why were you driving so fast?

HoosierDaddy: I'm just trying to keep bugs and debris off my windshield!

I've always invested in a big shield for every vehicle I've owned. I bought the Ford brand Bug Shield for my Badlands Bronco and tbh I'm not sure it actually does anything to alter chanel air flow and repel bugs at all. I like the look of it, aesthetically, but not sure this version really does anything. I realize the Bronco windshield it def more vertical, so maybe that's the real issue...but does anyone else feel like this ver bug shield doesn't do anything? Is there one that functions better anyone would recommend?

is this Aeroskin II a DIY installation? Any holes that require drilling?

Thinking about getting the Aeroskin II using Ford points. How does the Aeroskin II hold up in an automatic car wash? Specifically Club Car Wash (if anyone has experience with CCW).

I’ve taken mine through the toucless car wash around 10 times and it hasn’t budged. No leaks with soft top using touchless either. Make sure to install it on a warm day or warm the 3M adhesive with a heatgun and it should stay put.

Curious - how do these various shields affect gas mileage?
