The recalls continue to pile up!
https://www.usatoday.com/story/cars...ln-recall-bronco-explorer-ranger/86722282007/

Ford Motor Company is recalling nearly 60,000 Ford and Lincoln vehicles due to a potential fire hazard.

The Dearborn, Michigan-based automaker reported to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) the engine block heater in some vehicles may crack and develop a coolant leak, causing a short circuit when the block heater is plugged in.

A short circuit in the engine block heater increases the risk of an under-hood fire, Ford wrote in a letter to dealerships dated Wednesday, Oct. 15.

According to the NHTSA report, owners were advised not to plug in their block heater until the vehicle is fixed.

The auto manufacturer said it was not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries connected to the issue.

Ford models being recalled
  • 2016-2019 Lincoln MKC
  • 2016-2018, 2020-2023 Ford Explorer
  • 2019-2020 Ford Fusion
  • 2019-2024 Ford Ranger
  • 2020-2022 Lincoln Corsair
  • 2020-2022 Ford Escape
  • 2021-2024 Bronco, Bronco Sport
  • 2022-2024 Maverick vehicles

What should I do if my Ford is recalled?
Dealers will replace the block heater free of charge, the NHTSA recall notice said.

Notification letters are expected to be mailed to owners by Oct. 24. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, potentially in February 2026.

Ford recall number:
Owners can contact Ford at 1-866-436-7332.

The number for this recall is 25SA4.

Owners may also contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 or visit www.nhtsa.gov.

Yes, I *just* found this when I went into Fordpass to make a note of the 3 recalls I planned to call and schedule to be addressed now that they're finally ready. Imagine my surprise to find that new one with an expected solution in Q1 '26 . . . which would be fine except for the "may cause fire" bit, LOL. Oh well - hmmm, if my truck catches on fire and lights up all the other cars in the underground of my high-rise - is that my renter's insurance or my auto insurance? 🤣 🔥🤣

I have the block heater, but this recall hasn't shown up on the app or online yet for me.

WTF.. 8 open recalls on my FE. Every time I take it to the dealer they are not ready/don't have parts/forgot why I made an appointment.

Engine Valve, Driveshaft, Camera, Fuel pump, Block Heater, shocks.

Its never left me stranded, but this is getting ridiculous.. I guess I should be thankful that I got most of the water leaks fixed early on.

On the bright side, Ford does not seem to be fighting these. It is ridicules the amount of recalls, 69 so far. Is it the quality of parts or quality of builds, prolly a little of both. Long gone is the simple V8 with power brakes, steering and windows.

I am now curious since I haven't seen this recall on mine yet if the 2.7 has a different block heater than the 2.3?

I have the 2.7.

Q1 2026 kind of sucks...no block heater this winter. If I need to go to Manitoba this winter it will cross into the "really sucks" realm.

Wow. I had one of these installed after the fact in my 2021. That would have gotten even more expensive than it already was.

Glad my insurance covered the expense (of the part at least) from my total loss.

I have a 2024 with the 2.3 and my Ford app shows a recall but no parts available. They will notify when the remedy is ready.
