Engine Break-in for 2.7 L Engine

Does anyone know what mileage Ford suggests should be reached before you do full throttle acceleration and sustained freeway driving at the same rpm/speed.? What is the engine break-in mileage for the 2.7 L engine?

Shane is correct. Here is the relevant section from the 2021 Ford Bronco Owner’s Manual…

"High speeds" is kinda irrelevant, isn't it? I think it means high engine speeds - as in high RPMs.

My Bronco is at 70 MPH with around 2400 RPMs.

I kept mine under 2000 RPMs for the first 500 and then under 2500 for the next 1000 miles. Once I crossed the 1500 mile mark, I floored it onto off-ramps to make sure she could take it. She could.

I was definitely more cautious than some. I definitely wouldn't shoot for redline in the first 1000 for sure.

I always break them in like I want them to run. Hard and fast from day 1. Roller cams and rockers. Just need to seat the rings. Always change oil at 1000 miles.
