Wow 1000 mile Break In Engine Rule 2.7 engine😳

Wow how many here realize there is a 1000 mile break in period for the 2.7 motor? I was amazed to read this in the manual last night being most newer cars are 500 miles. And even to the point the new GT500 motor after just 100 miles is ok to go full blown but 1000 miles before track use. Vote and share your thoughts on what your doing as well

My 2.7 break in was a 600+ mile drive home from the dealership. It consisted of driving as fast as traffic allowed. I guarantee I was never passed the whole way home, as usual. Broke her in real good.

Don't need the manual to tell me that I break the engine in proper over the first 1k miles, change the oil, send to Blackstone, start to push it a little harder while waiting for blackstone results - and then get the green light.

Because there are so many issues being discussed about the 2.7, think you at least want to take it a tad easy.

The “change the oil at 1000” has also been debated here a ton, but in the end guys went to their perspective corners on the topic, be damned what a manual or some team of engineers says, my dad did it, so that’s the gospel! Goddamnit!

Taking it easy doesn’t mean drive like grandma, but remember that this ain‘t a Mustang and really doesn’t want to haul ass anyway since it weighs 5000lbs. Well, unless you’re in some dirt.

LOL I think my Audi's break in period was something closer to 3,000 miles (5,000 km). I thought 1,000 miles was a nice relief!

At my current mileage average the three year warranty will expire before I hit 1K.
Even hermits venture out of the compound on occasion.

Careful break-in the first 1k and then broke-out the half way though the next 1k. So now waiting for a new engine so I can try again ...

Varied driving for me, will do first recommended oil change at 5000 miles

I have a 2.3 and adhered to the 1000mile rule......vary throttle input to allow the shit to seat..and a oil change/filter...not that big of a deal.

The engine is broke in at the factory. It's the diff that needs to break in at different speeds and the tranny needs to learn how you drive
Ever saw an engine builder test a new engine on the dyno? He warms it up a bit and then gives it a full pull- no 1000 mile BS...........
