If it isn't listed that effectively means it's unconstrained. Or at the very least Ford isn't concerned about supply constraints.

---

Which brings up a good point. For those who don't know what these percentages mean...

Pretend Ford is scheduling 1000 vehicles a month. If the 2-door constraint is listed at 15%, that means a maximum of 150 vehicles scheduled that month can be 2-door.

If 25% of the outstanding orders in the order bank are for 2-door, that effectively means 10% of those orders are instantly ineligible for scheduling—they have a near 0% chance at being scheduled that month. Admittedly that's an extreme over-simplification, but gives you an idea of what this all means.
Thank you.

I wonder if anyone at Ford that was involved in the new Bronco brand and all the various options has learned their lesson in that any new brand like the Bronco needs to limit options and ensure their manufacturers can meet expected demand. Ford liked to say the tops were their biggest problem, but the reality is the largest problem for the Bronco has been the lack of suppliers that can meet wide and various demands.
Ford was/is the biggest problem with the bronco.

This list has me really excited since the only constraint that my order looks to face is the 4DR Hartop

  • Series:
    • 4-Door Hard Top - 65%
    • 2-Door - 15%
I can tell I'm reading this way wrong because the percentages don't add up to 100.

Are *all* 2- door Broncos capped at 15%? Or is there something I'm missing? Something to do with the hard top vs. soft top?

I think asking this question after 5 more years when folks start thinking of replacing will be a good time. I.e. how does the market treat them, and how have they worked out in the long run?
I honestly feel like the 2 doors are perfect for the 2.3 kitted out (big tires, winches, steel bumpers and skid plates and all the fixings). I wonder if the 2.3 may struggle a bit with the same 4 door kitted out, simply because there is more room to add weight to a 4 door.
Nah my 4 door Black Diamond Sasquatch auto has plenty of get up and go imo. The 4.7 gearing is a big deal. If you plan on lifting or putting on 37” or larger tires the 2.7 is probably the way to go. I think the 2.3 could handle it(especially with a tune) but the extra torque of the 2.7 would make sense.
When people worry about long term reliability because they think the 2.3 is being “over worked”.. I think that is total bs, but time will tell.

Any verified talk of getting rid of the 7-speed m/t on the '24 models?

That's why I went and bought my Black Diamond the other day rather than wait until next year.

Are there those that prefer the 2.3 over the 2.7? If so is ot the cost increase of the 2.7 the main reason for that or is there other reasons? Typically everyone wants the bigger more powerful motor.

I think in MY23 the Wildtrack became more popular because of the Hoss 3.0 components, once people understood the upgraded steering rack and tie rods were part of the package they could live without the auto sway bar disconnect (and just go manual disconnect) and there are options to delete the carpet. It’s a lot easier to add some manual disconnects than it is to upgrade/reinforce the 2.0 steering components.
I got the 2.3 because I wanted a manual and couldn't get it in the 2.7 on my BL

Yeah man, I am getting more happy I paid a little over MSRP when I did, I've had my 2 door, manual Badlands now for days shy of a year now and 2023 order banks appear to have treated people wrong and the 2023 MSRP was only about $400 less than what I paid for the 2022 and that's even if I could get one. Now 2024 looks like a bigger mess.

WHAT I STILL DON'T "GET":
It has been over 3 years since reservations were originally taken.
It seems it took the average order holder two years to get their Bronco.
Yet...Ford is still having issues getting these produced. You would think after 10 years of planning and let's say the last 3-4 years that Ford would get this production more normalized and have supply issues worked out. Yet, they can't. They keep adding more features and turn out new series, while some still wait for their Bronco.

We love our 2 door and want to order another. But knowing only 15% of builds will be 2 doors and add in all the other issues and dealer allocations....another one will probably be harder to get than our first.

I am done with the lets blame it all on Covid too.

Will we ever see the day that you can order a Bronco and have it in 4 months?

We'll see. I know there will be a good chunk of people who won't get built. There will be a good chunk for 2023, and I expect there to be a chunk for 2024 as well. Bronco is one of those vehicles where people order what they want regardless of what the numbers say. But I don't think we'll see a situation where the vast majority of order holders end up waiting 2+ years for their vehicle.

Also... those allocation estimates should have a 25% contingency buffer in it... if that's any consolation. (Probably isn't.)

Did you guys get all of your 2023 orders scheduled?? Most of the dealers I've talked have a single digit number of remaining orders left to schedule.
All of our orders have been built and delivered so like @Zach@Granger we got debited because of the pull forward. Ford rewarded us after taking care of our customers and not putting the f stick to anyone like a lot of dealers have and will be doing in short order. We took orders and are now a victim of their inability to fill them so in their infinite wisdom, penalize those who followed their rules. We had at least 10 retail orders ready to go and will have to start the calling process to tell all 10, sorry, no Bronco for you. At least not from us.

Not to sound too bitter but we also got our '24 Escape allocation which is basically about a month and a half of our normal volume. Works out to 1 per month.

Are allocations smaller that '23? Wondering if Ranger is impacting allocations.

Ah okay so you were among those that got their allocations pulled forward. Props to you guys for taking care of your existing customers even if it impacted future allocation. I don't know anyone personally who had to do that, so not sure what kind of "deal with the devil" you had to make, but it sounds like it wasn't good for future allocations.
No deal, they just built what we had in the bank (mostly WTs with all the sins). There was vague reference to pull forward but why would that have any impact on what we should be getting going forward? The whole thing was sell to earn. We received no "stock" and only have one unreported sold unit on the ground due to it getting up fit. So what will happen is all the dealers that didn't push to sell will be getting allocation along with the large dealers that gamed the system and got a bunch of stock. We've only gotten roughly 30 for each of the last two model years, all retail orders with the exception of the one stock unit I'm driving as my demo. They seriously think my 20 sold retails I'll have for the next model year is problematic? Shit, it's not like I'm asking for 50. I may sound like a bitch for complaining but this whole allocation thing has been a sham from the beginning for customers as well as a lot of dealers. I could understand if we had a bunch of stock units sitting around because we were trying to hold out for ADM, but to get absolutely nothing for the entire model year is just whack. Guarantee the metro guys around me who got tons of stock and were taking heads off will be getting plenty of retail and stock.

Worthwhile to not read too far into the percentages at this stage.

What really matters is the retail order mix versus the production constraints, and we obviously don't know what people will order yet. If only 15% (or less) of orders are for 2-doors then you'll be fine. In the past years it was floating around the the 15-18% mark (if I'm remembering correctly), and it is reasonable to expect it'll be closer to the 15% mark this year now that most of the enthusiasts have gotten their vehicle (or given up and moved on).

I would be willing to bet the majority of people who place an order this year will get a vehicle this year.
Thank you for this insight.

A badlands with 2.7 standard and HOSS 3.0 steering is going to be an off-roaders dream. I swapped to full 2.5” coilovers at 20 miles on the ODO, but had to do a bunch of steering rack bracing and tie rod swaps to put my mind at ease. I absolutely needed a washout interior and sta bar disconnect so I deprioritized getting the severe duty rack in hopes I could easily swap that in later. Looks like it may finally be offered by ford performance
Really hoping that Ford can install these in earlier year models. Would love to keep my current rig but drop the upgraded steering into it.
