So I have been reading some of these posts. Is this a real thing? Never heard of this before. I thought our 2.7 sounds pretty good for a 6 cyl. Disappointing that its a fake sound. Is it truly fake?

I don't buy it. But also, who cares if it's true. If you like the sound when you're in the vehicle, great. Why care whether people outside the vehicle hear it? When I put together exhaust systems on old cars and trucks, I design it for my ears, not other peoples'. I don't really understand why people are down on the fake exhaust noises -- exhaust sounds are truly just "noise" to other drivers. So I have been reading some of these posts. Is this a real thing? I can’t decide which I find more blingy, fake, narcissistic, shallow, and juvenile - the non functional hood scoop or these fake engine noises. I’d rather my vehicle come with a permanent two dollar crack whore in the passenger seat then either of these ridiculous “enhancements“.I don't really understand why people are down on the fake exhaust noises…

Yeah, I don't need it. Just like I've never done a crack whore, lol. My only point is, those fake noises are better than hearing real ones driving by your house. If exhaust noise does it for somebody, better that it's fake.I can’t decide which I find more blingy, fake, narcissistic, shallow, and juvenile - the non functional hood scoop or these fake engine noises. I’m just trying to help your understanding![]()
That is a good point. When I was young with my first car (1980's), if you ran a 'cherry bomb' muffler or straight pipes you regularly got a ticket, or were impounded. I think it was in the 1990's when all the judges, lawyers, and other respectable upper-middle class people (the folks who actually run local government) started acquiring Harley's (and its attendant "straight pipes save lives" culture) that vehicle noise laws became widely ignored. Now many vehicles come from the factory muffler by-pass that far exceeds local noise ordinances.those fake noises are better than hearing real ones driving by your house.
I completely agree. However we only own a percentage of the Bronco. They are part owners. Ford reserves the right to constantly modify your purchase as long as it can be done remotely. Sounds are one of them. When I want to hear my exhaust, I put on an exhaust system that enhances the sound to my liking. I want my speakers to be used for listening to music and not be overridden by amplified exhaust sound. I am glad there is a way to shut the amplified exhaust sound off.
If someone likes it for themselves, that is their choice.
Paging Mabett or IAG - this would sell well I thinkpermanent two dollar crack whore
