First 2.3L oil change

Anyone who has done a change already on a 2.3 I’ll give you one guess where my head was when I loosened the filter!

For those that have not. I saw there was a drain under the filter. I didn’t see where that drain went. Figured it went straight down to give the subframe and bushings some rust protection. Nope. It very nicely routs around all that and effectively channels the oil to a location convenient for a drain pan. Or in my case my forehead. Dang it!

Yeah, oil filter cap wrench + extension through the wheel well (full lock right) is the way.

I just used my hand.
through the wheel well would have certainly saved me from a greaser hair do.
