Haha! CSX blows with that. Once it switches to UP in Chicago/St Louis, their phone system is much better. Only, it tells you every little tiny … not even sure “town” is the right word, that the train passes. So every 4-10 miles, you’re trying to decipher a new minuscule town it’s passing, and it pronounces them VERY strangely. I had basically no idea where it was after Topeka until North Platte. Sometimes I’ll still cross reference the CSX number because the status updates in both and they pronounce some differently!I hope you are having a better experience than I had doing that:
Me: T - T - G - X
Their automatic system: "Did you say C - B - E - X"
Me: No, T - T - G - X
Them: Did you say B - T - E - X?
Me: NO, Tee - Tee - Gee - eXxxx
Them: Did you say T - T - B - X?
Me: *&*@*@#&##*@(@*#!!!
Them: I understand you would like to end this call, is that correct?
the CSX guy asks if you want it repeated which is nice, but he can’t understand anything you say. The UP woman understands clearly but doesn’t offer to repeat the status. “East St Louis” was “Aslowiss”
my favorite is
“Tee Tee Gee Ex”
“Did you say Cee Bee Gee Arr?”
