Does anyone else have this problem when doing fill ups at the gas station? Nearly every time I fill up I have to catch it before it overflows. I can never set the nozzle to automatically fill up and it click off in time. When I do it manually I can sometimes keep it from overflowing but that is because I know just about how much I need and I take the last few gallons very slow. I am just surprised on a new vehicle that this would be an issue. I didn't know if it is something just with my vehicle or something others deal with.

***Update****
I initially thought it was the fueling station I was taking it to but it happened again so I let the dealership look at it while I had it in for another issue. They ended up telling me I needed a new Fuel tank. I am hoping this fixes it, so we shall see. They felt there was something wrong with the tank itself and it was creating pressure inside the tank and coming out all at once.

Thanks.

I can’t say I’ve ever had an issue running fully automatic until it shuts off.

Let's see, my wife had a problem at the Shell station the other day with it shutting off prematurely. She ended up holding the pump handle up a little bit.

But I've filled at Costco twice now; each time their pump handle runs great, shuts off when it's full, but when I pull it out I get a big POOF! of air with some gasoline spray in it. I suppose this is due to their pump handle sealing against the filler neck VERY well.

The gasoline that comes out stays within the filler neck area, it never goes beyond that onto the car, but I've never had a car do that before.

Never had that issue. I can understand your frustration though.

No issues here.

Maybe occasional premature activation of the shut off, but usually changing the angle of insertion, or not fully inserting to the hilt helps with that.

Are you getting the nozzle all the way on the filler?

Does it happen at one particular pump?

Yeah, sometimes I get OCD and try to fill it up way high, especially when I'm anticipating long mileage before refilling or I got some super discount on the gas. Gas prices have come down a little, but they're still a lot higher than when I bought my Bronco. But under normal conditions, no trouble.

A little off thread, but be careful with gas cans. Make sure they have thin spouts and can reach a few inches into the fueling pipe, and be especially careful with gimmicky "safety" mechanisms. The "No Spill" gas can is especially frustrating: the spout doesn't reach into the gas pipe, and the very resistant spring mechanism is really tough to engage when you're holding the can.

I ended up spilling a lot on the pavement--so much for the "No Spill" spout (that's its name!) and I returned it to Home Depot.

As others have stated, mine clicks off automatically every time. I would suggest a visit to your dealer is due.

I recommend using the funnel that came with the Bronco under the floor in the cargo area. It fits perfectly.
Should be back there with the jack.
