So the gwm uploads all your data to Ford so they can spy on you? I think I'll disconnect mine.
Do not disconnect the GWM. That module is pretty important. The GWM acts as a central gateway to translate messages across all 5 vehicle Controller Area Networks (CANs). The GWM is the only module on the vehicle with this ability. The GWM also serves as a termination module for each of the networks to which it is connected.

This is absolutely correct in fact it stores all of your data from your phone that you've ever synced with the Bronco, deleted text messages and pictures and photos and browsing history are all stored on your nice Gateway module
No the messages are not stored on the GWM. The gateway only translates messages from the networks in the vehicle. If any module stores messages like that it would be the APIM( Accessory Protocol Interface Module).

I turned off the communication in the radio. Fordpass doesn't work. But I still get OTA. So it's not a complete off.

Ford when you connect your phone, uploads all your txting data to their servers. I'm a model citizen, but they don't need that data. They are also uploading gigabytes of other data from the vehicle. Again, they don't need that data. I'm not getting paid for that. I signed no clause saying they could have it. It's mine. The vehicle I bought is mine.

Seems like disconnecting the antenna would produce the fewest error messaqes.
No it does not. You're just making shit up.
no ford has lawsuits against them for this exact thing...could be in another module that the storage takes place, but I believe the data is uploaded OTA.

put your head in the sand if you want, but it won't help the truth.

That's the case I was referring to. We lost but there will be others. For now we just need an easier way..

AS I understand it, the information is stored locally - on your vehicle. It is not uploaded to Ford. It just enables your Android Auto or Carplay connection to use your contacts, continue message threads, etc. I'm pretty sure you are given the option when you first pair your phone whether you want to sync your data or not.

If you're paranoid, you just tell it no - or do not pair your phone with the vehicle, and you've got nothing to worry about.

in the evidence you cited it states quite clearly that the information remains onboard, it is not uploaded anywhere, and that the only folks who can read it off the vehicle are a third party security group who would need direct access to the vehicle.

the lawsuit in question mostly stemmed from a few people too stupid to delete their phone synced data out of rental cars
