I have a subaru - great snow car. I also know people who push them pretty far offroad. Didn't really push mine much but did think that an extra low granny gear was all it needed to double it's offroad capacity.

Curious to see what they roll out but it certainly won't be a Bronco competitor.

They do have an extra low granny gear now I think, “x-mode”.

Maybe for the wife. Her Outback is a good car. I don't want it as my DD but it has been a good long haul vehicle for the family. Tons of rear leg room. You can easily put 6'-6" folks in the back seat and they actually have knee room.

Speaking of new off-road vehicle, Toyota just file a trademark for 'trail hunter' to compete with bronco and jeep.

granted if an Outback had fake wood siding like the AMC I literally would want it more

Drive a Subaru now and there is now way it can compete with a Bronco. Great vehicle but completely different.
