Visited a local Ford dealer in hopes of test driving a 7MT 2D but the only ones available were 2.7 autos. Drove a black Badlands and liked it enough to consider ordering one. After working with a sales rep on the options this is what I arrived at:

2024 Bronco® Badlands®Summary

PaintS4

  • Cactus Gray
    $295
PowertrainS4

  • 2.3L EcoBoost® I-4 Engine
    $0

  • Advanced 4x4 with Automatic On Demand Engagement
    $0

  • 4x4 with Part Time Selectable Engagement
    $0

  • 7-Speed Manual Transmission
    PackagesS4
    • Mid Package (332A)
      $1,645

    • Trailer Tow Package
      $750
ExteriorS4
  • Roof Rails with Crossbars Black
    $465

  • Tube Doors – 2-Door
    $1,360

  • Brush Guard
    $300
InteriorS4
  • Floor Liners, Front and Rear without Carpet Floor Mats
    $160
AccessoriesS8

Your dealership will arrange delivery of these accessories to you once the vehicle is available from the factory.
  • Dashcam with Rear Facing Camera Bundle
    $309

  • Vehicle Security System - Ford Perimeter Plus
    $245

  • Vehicle Security System - Optional LED Kit
    $15

  • Racks and Carriers by Yakima - Awning
    $469

  • Exterior Trim by TufSkinz, Grille Lettering, Carbon Fiber Domed
    $49
Are there some options that are better pursued through aftermarket?

Will see very light off road if any hence I didn't opt for Sas upgrade, the Badlands' Bilsteins should be very adequate. Occasional tow of a trailer with severaltrack bikes.

id appreciate any feedback including recommendations on any changes to the above.

There's some tube door after-market options (not US made), in the $250-450 range. Something to read up on. Lots of brush guard options, not something I'd rush into.

You might look at the Wolfbox 900 dash cam. It's a rear view mirror that can use the rear cam to show what behind you. This takes away the blind spots from anything inside the Bronco (headrests for example) and the spare tire and brake light.

It attaches to the Bronco rear view mirror or you can get mount for it to replace the Bronco mirror.

The tube doors are safety items that are factory tested (I hope) in crash testing. On the other hand brushguards, skid plate and racks are all subject to aftermarket options.

Also, what is a good tune that is CARB approved ? Curently running TS6 on my '99 F250 7.3 Powerstroke, would like something along similar lines for the 2.3L

Looks interesting. Like the way the rear view camera attaches. Will definitely consider it in lieu of the factory option

A manual BL with mid and tow is a good choice and no argument but all the factory add-ons I'd hold off on and get from the aftermarket for more options and better prices. Even if you do decide on Ford branded products they're cheaper outside the ordering process unless you just absolutely have to have them at delivery.

Surprising but good info on the tube doors, thank you all. This is the type of guidance I was looking for.

What are the thoughts on the Ford Perimeter Plus security system? It appears to be a dealer installed item...

Save your money on the tube doors, aftermarket is fine (and no Ford tax).

As you already said, I would absolutely pass on the Sasquatch package on the Badlands unless it is exactly what you need and you love those particular shocks, wheels, and tires. The aftermarket has much better options.

I have a 2023 Badlands with the high package. It includes the 360 degree cameras and extra sound deadening. I had reservations about ordering the high package, but now I'm glad I did. I really like the cameras. Also, other than wind noise, my Bronco is pretty quiet. Compared to my Subaru it feels like a luxury car. I didn't get the factory roof rack. I felt it would be easier to find accessories to match one of the aftermarket racks.

Ford combined the High and Lux packages for 2024.
