I simply don't want my location and Legal name attached in public to my online accounts. It's the whole need to know thing.
MANY people post pictures of mine online, so I just don't worry about it. 🤣

You know I never thought about what you just stated, why do people cover their license plates when it’s always visible when driving, this fellow is not the only person that does it, I see it all the time people block their license plates in pictures.
If you remember when you applied for your membership here you got a list of no no’s … one said you cannot screen scrape data…

less likely someone seeing your plate cares, most local cameras too

But there are places/ people scraping data in chit holes that don’t care about USA laws… ;^)

Well at least we can't read the license plate and conduct nefarious activities. Good thing it's not visible to all those other folks that see it wheel you are driving around.
Exactly, you beat me to it!

I've never understood why people cover their plates when posting pics...

If it makes 'you' feel any better, I just read a 40K mile wrap up test of a BMW I4. They unfortunately had a run in with a deer and needed to replace one - 1 - uno - headlight.

$4000 for one headlight. Nothing else, just the headlight. In-freakin-sane.

Bumped into a ford transit, literally, now were gonna see how much it is to repair. Any guesses? I get an estimate tomorrow, literally just the bumper and grill are damaged, no sensors or anything else behind them. Lucky actually. Behind the plate is where the real bend in the bumper is.

You do realize your license plate is common public knowledge. LoL.

That’s exactly why one covers it up. Without the plate you can’t obtain his home address from this picture alone.

We're in a constant state of identity theft, and it wasn't because of something we posted online. Big companies are getting hacked left and right. All your info is out there in someone's hard drive.

Body shops and insurance companies will replace more than necessary for liability reasons. If I were you I would avoid insurance and just pay cash unless covered by the other drivers insurance. Probably cheaper to buy a replacement bumper and bolt it on, or a good time to upgrade to the modular bumper.
