HELP!! Need to work through locker or no locker!!

I don't know why limited slip diffs went out of favor but I missed them on my last 3 trucks. Years ago I ordered f&r LS on my first f150 and it was a beast. I could go anywhere in the Pa mountains anytime year around. That was the old days when most 4X4s had manual locking hubs. I lived on top of what the locals called 3 mile hill and when the winter weather was real bad the police would barricade the road so I had to drive around it to get home, never a problem.
Probably needed the rear locker on my Rap a dozen times in ten years getting up the rutted washed out trail to our hunting camp. Wish it had LS rear.
When I order a Bronco it will have rear locker only.

This is good information for those of us that have been wondering. Sadly, I want the badlands more for the LED signature lighting and upgraded suspension than the front locker. That being said, there are places that I want to go that I can't get to now, so I think rear lockers are a must have for me for future fun.

Get the sasquatch package. Sounds like you'll never use it, but its a great value at 5k. Plus the Bronco will look awesome!!!!

My Jeep sits on 35x12.50r15's with open diffs and there are maybe a handful of times I could have used a locker. You don't NEED them, but they are nice to have when you do, but that's also when my winch has come in handy.

If you are doing more street driving, you will get more use out of limited slips. My brother's old Jeep had them and they were freaking awesome driving though the snow and slush up here in Michigan.

Bottom line, I think of lockers for a mostly street vehicle as just having extra recovery gear. They won't get much use, but they're nice to have when you need them. Limited slip differentials will get a lot more use for you and be more like a performance upgrade rather than a "just in case" feature.

What you do want is the Advanced 4x4 with 4A though.

How is this advantageous? I am in the same boat. I don't think I need front lockers, so I am going with the black diamond. However, if 4a is not too much compared to the advantages it offers, I will consider it.

E-locker has been a game changer on my 4x2 truck. I use it on the street in the summer for stoplight races as the 2.7 10AT in sport mode will light up a single rear for miles. It also makes a big difference in off-road capability.

The bronco won't have the same issues as it has better weight distribution F/R than my truck which has most weight over the front. It will also have 4x4.

But it is a "performance free" feature. Meaning there is no downside.. weighs hardly anything and without engaging it you won't even know it is there. So you may not need it but there is no need to go out of your way to avoid it.

If you plan to tune the 2.7 someday you might actually want at least 3 wheels spinning (front open rear locked) in hard street launches as a 2-door with ~400 hp will be an acceleration beast.

By the way I have 3.73 gears with 32.5 tires and it is the perfect combo for street/dirt for my ~4,200lb truck. Any lower at 80MPH would be revving too high for my likes and I would be burning rubber (or T/C would be shutting the fun down) even more around town.

Solo Stove Bonfire...it's fantastic. If crappy weather is coming I just pick it up and put it in the garage! To clean pickup, turn upside down over trash can and shake!

Take a look at exactly what you are getting with that package.......
Lockers front and rear
upgraded axles
upgraded tires
upgraded wheels
additional lift

Any one of those items will be a huge cost adder later. I'm on the fence too but this much equipment is really hard to pass up at the 5k price they are considering. Not to mention that it is all under factory warranty.
And most importantly. It will look Awesome!!!!!

I've had to use the lockers in situations where I never thought I would. Its nice to have them if you need them. Upgraded axles will make you feel that much better when you are offroading knowing that chances of you breaking down are less. 35" tires...You can go over curves and not even sweat it. How cool is that....

35x10.50r17 is what I'm running on my open differential '17 Wrangler.
The Jeep's D30 front axle is weaker than the base Bronco's M190.
It's a known-known that as long as I use a light pedal offroading, (IE: don't bounce hard on rocks , or high RPM mud slinging) the D30 will live.
The vast majority of Wrangler owners running 35"s are doing it on D30s too.

A Bronco with the M190 and limited slip differentials on 35"s, will be fine.

It appears that there is a T-case that is optional that has a 4A mode. I just don't think anyone here knows how much it is going to cost. My gues would be a couple thousand.

Unknown on the LSD. I'm hopeful as I think it would be much more useful for my use.
