At least with the Lightning when the radio failed you could buy an upgrade out of a Crutchfield catalog. Who knows how long the 8" & 12" screens are going to last and what we're going to be gouged for after warranty. So the center caps on the Lightning were one of the first parts to be in trouble with. They were easily damaged by dealers reinstalling them using rubber mallets. They were 33 when in stock and went for nearly 500 on EBay for NOS. LMR reproduced them but they were not exactly the same but PDC. The premium radio was next as it seemed to fail early. Then came wheels, front I beams and radius arms. Drive shafts came later but those were more easily fabricated.
I haven’t started hoarding yet, but I will once we see the final numbers. Not my first rodeo. BTW, anyone looking for a NOS center cap for a Gen 1 Lightning?
