I don't do anything... I just drive it! I'll try to wash it when I can to get some of that salt and stuff off, but that's about it.

@talbot recommends Canadian owners to coat underneath the Bronco in the thickest, highest-grade maple syrup they can find though - It helps protect it from salt and beavers.

I’m truly baffled here. I would expect a factory Bronco to be able to withstand winter with no additional concerns.
Sure, try to rinse off salt when possible, but beyond that…it’s a truck, with a rust warranty.
I’m baffled too. But I live in Los Angeles .

Truck frames rust out big time here in the Northeast. Since we keep our vehicles until they die, the undercoating is preventative maintenance which will hopefully lead to vehicle longevity!
I live in ct and drive daily. I never put any undercoating on my vehicles. I wash the undercairage with water any time it snows etc. Never had anything other then surface rust on my vehicles in over 3 decades. I keep cars for at least ten years and sell them without rust. Undercoating is a money grab.

I took a bone stock 98 Ranger to 250k miles in the same mid-Atlantic winters as OP. You will be fine with an occasional wash.
Yet my 2011 Ranger w/ 120k has a rusted out bumper and a hole that rusted out under the bed in the same winters.

I've been looking to do the same with Woolwax or Surface shield but might just do it next year and keep it clean on a weekly basis for now.

There's a town in CT that uses pre-mixed salt, magnesium chloride and food-grade molasses compound to treat their roads and help minimize corrosion. Apparently, the sugar helps melt the salt and its stickiness keeps the salt in place on the road instead of letting it bounce around onto vehicles.

The Missouri DOT uses salt brine mixed with sugar beets to help the salt work at lower temps and lessen the corrosive properties of salt. Here's some fun facts for all you chemistry geeks: https://www.modot.org/sugar-beets

The road chemicals are highly corrosive and will rot out your vehicle if you don't use undercoating or rinse your vehicles regularly.

I'm in eastern Nebraska, harsh chemicals here as well. That said I think the factory seal or whatever rust proofing they do will keep me covered for a couple years. I'll check it out in the spring, touch up anything that needs it (but not expecting this). After a few winters if anything develops I'll try some of that new pb blaster.. but this is a ways down the road. All I'm doing this year is weekly washes and enjoying my rig!

Best place in Michigan is Henderson Bros., for anyone local that is looking for undercoating.

https://www.hendersonbrorustproofing.com/

Guarantee their work and they’ll touch up for a nominal fee every three years.

My Bronco got a WoolWax undercoating treatment to protect against those nasty road chemicals that rot our vehicles here in CT. WoolWax is made by the same company that makes FluidFilm. However, it is thicker and has no odor. I was surprised to hear that Dodge will void your warranty if you apply any undercoating. To those of you living in northern climates: How do you prep your Bronco for winter weather?

In the 1960s, paint, sheetmetal, bondo and rivits, in the 1970s & 1980s, used Ziebart, lots of washing and then climbing under my 1980s and 1990s trucks with cans of black rustoleum every Spring/summer to touch up rust. In the 2,000s, i spray off the underside after a trip to the beach sand, but don't see rust as an issue with modern vehicles otherwise beyond keeping them clean. Only thing that rusts these days is some fastners, disc brakes (drive the car) and some mufflers. Vehicles are now immersed, coated electrostatically, plastic and new steel and alunimum cuts down on galvanic & dissimilar metal corrosion. My 1980s and 1990s big broncos had rust points at the roof cap gutter, the fold down tailgate, and the gas tank. New bronco has plastic tank, alunimum tailgate and a composite roof. Im not worried.

spray fluid film and surface sheild using undercoating gun. Takes a hour each year. Sprayed 2014 steel body f150 every year and zero rust before I sold last year. Getting into frame rails and rocker panels is most important
