I keep things forever, don't sell just add to the collection. Insurance company loves me. Luckily registration isn't due on everything the same year (although it's relatively cheap here at $170/biannual).

Interesting that more than half of us keep vehicles over 10 yrs, when I was younger in the 60’s the norm was to let them go before you turned 50,000 miles only way you could get anything for them. Now cars routinely go 250,000 with basic maintenance and still have enough value to make it worth your time for a private sale. Cleaned garage out for Bronco hopefully late 21 (22my) sold 01 F150 and 09 MB SL550 now down to my daily driver 03 MB SLK 175,000 and still strong

My current ride is 18 years old with only 90K miles on it. It has been referred to as Grandpa Gold. Someone will have the opportunity to buy it when I trade it in for my Bronco.

I think the poll needs more options. I currently own two vehicles over 25 years old. Still own the first new car I ever bought and the first new motorcycle I ever bought.

I'll probably keep the Bronco for a shorter time, but only because: 1) It's financially feasible; 2) I expect in a few years there will be some options/colors that I like better than now in Year 1; and 3) I have kids in college as well as a niece and nephew who may want a lightly used car soon.

My 2001 corvette turns 20 years old in a couple of months. 90k miles. And I have a 2017 F-150 and my wife drives a 2012 Acura TL. Selling the corvette to make room for the Bronco. Hopefully the Bronco will give me 20 years. At that point I'll be 85 and ready for a 2041 Bronco.

I still have my 2008 Fj cruiser with 75,000 miles on it. I don’t ever plan on selling it. Bronco will be the same. Wife’s jeep might get sold if it causes us head aches.

Until I get the feeling the repairs are costing more than return value.

Last NEW purchase was a 04 Civic that I gave to the granddaughter in 2016 when she turned 16. This past summer the head gasket went on it at 215k. Had the head milled, replaced water pump, radiator, belts and gaskets for around $600. Told her it was time to look for something else and the repairs got her back on the road and bought her enough time to finish college.

She just picked up a 2010 Prius with 98k on it it for $5500 and sold the civic fo $2500. Only downside is she has no credit so the car had to be financed through the Royal Scottish Bank of Grandpa.

Just sold my newest rig to help pay for the new Bronco. 01 F150 Screw 120k. My 67 Bronco has been with me since the 80's along with my IHC L130 pickup. The other two...75F250 and an 88 Deuce and a half are relatively new to me in the last 6 years or so. Have had many others over the years but these are my keepers.

I generally buy as much vehicle as I can afford and then drive it until I just dont trust it anymore. That usually ends up being in the 150k mile range. That takes me about 8 years to achieve. My current daily (Yukon Denali XL) is a 2012 (bought used in 2012 with 19K--Guy worked for the state and gets a new rig every 20k) which now has 160k on it and showing its age in visible and mechanical ways. I'm hoping to nurse it until the Warthog is out... Which reminds me... I have a wheel bearing assembly to install this morning!!! Anyone in Rochester MN want to wrench today?

Outside a couple of outliers that I got rid of because they had too many or too expensive issues I didn't want to deal with, I've always kept my vehicles a long time.

One of my current Acuras will be turning 10 next year and the other will be turning 20 in two years. The older one will be a hand-me-down to my two kids and should be around for another 8+ years since my first kid will start driving in less than two years.

There is a good chance that I will be giving my Bronco to a grandkid when they take my drivers license away for old age reasons (unless I live on some decent size property where I can still putt around).
