  • Custom order, even if there is one exactly the way I want on the ground-likely my last new vehicle.
  • 4dr
  • 10 Spd auto 4WD, locking F/R diffs
  • V6 or big non-turbo 4, maybe a hybrid (can't believe I just typed that :surprised:)
  • Hardtop w/removable or retractable panel or sunroof, privacy glass
  • Earthtones- tan, copper, sage, olive,, sandstone, ochre, etc. maybe Grabber Blue!? Non-metallic. Maybe white roof
  • Probably XL-level trim, A/C, CC, Sync or Sync 3 w/o GPS, Cloth lumbar seats, black, charcoal, tan. fold flat rear seat(s), 16" 80-profile All terrain tires. Offroad pkg, outside spare, larger fuel tank, class II trailer towing. Most of the other options I can add on as I go. or do without. Fixed income here, not going to jump up $5000 to another trim or package just to get a heated steering wheel for example.

Right, how'd I forgot to include no ASS (Auto Stop Start) with my build? So glad neither of my vehicles have it, when I get into my parents or sisters car, I automatically turn it off and already looked up how to disable it on the JL (When I was looking at them)

Liking the builds so far
I can see where it would be a pain daily in traffic. I have it on my Escape, but live in the country and it isn't a real bother. I've found that if I let up on the brake a little bit immediately after the car stops, it will stay running.

I just think it's annoying, period.

It's the principal of here's something I didn't ask for that can't be permanently disabled without tampering and causes wear and tear with the constant on/off's that shouldn't of been there period.

Again, thank god for the aftermarket, they got a solution to all of OEM's problems

Wait... so when we say Hardtop, we're talking Bronco or Jeep style fully removable hardtops, right? I don't want some fixed hardtop with a sunroof, that'll be a dealbreaker. Give me open air!

I'm referring to removeable, Jeep style Hard top.

If I wanted a fixed top, then I'd just find a way to weld it to the frame

Probably base engine unless the upgrade is a very reasonable price
If available cooled seats

Everything else I’ll upgrade with time.

I'm not really concerned, fixed or removable. No soft top. I doubt that I would ever remove the entire roof, and a retractable or removable sunroof panel would be fine. But for me, if I would have to jump up thousands of dollars to a trim or option package with stuff I don't care about to get a sky view, I'll get a pop-up/ lift out one aftermarket like I had on my '82 Escort GL: $7900 with aftermarket air and sunroof. Those were the days!

I wouldn't mind a dual top option like the jeeps, figure hard for winter and then slap on a soft for summer

Spring can't come fast enough, we don't even have snow up here yet and it was in the 60s this weekend

First post in the forums here! Thanks for the add! My turn!

  • 2DR! Hoping for it to turn out like the @BuckedOff-Road concept.
  • Automatic trans since I have a 40 mile round trip every day.
  • 2.7L EcoBoost, but won't be upset with a 2.3L EcoBoost with a tune and some exhaust.
  • Removable hard top, in black.
  • Color depends on what's available. Preferably dune/sand, blue, red or metallic grey.
  • Fine with a IFS as long as I get that solid rear.
  • FX package (locking or limited-slip diffs, tuned suspension, skid plates, 33" all-terrains, etc.), tow package, AppleCP/AndroidAuto.
After three Jeeps with either no key fob or a non-working key fob, I'll just be happy to be able to unlock my vehicle without a key.

I could see Ford making overland GPS only available in a package/trim I wouldn't want, and/or 30-50% more as a stand-alone than aftermarket units. I don't need it to be integrated into the dash and, besides, OEM's are going more and more with non-integrated screens, which look like add-ons anyway.
For GPS, I'd go with TwoNav:
https://www.twonav.com/en/gps/avent..._source=landingpage_ecosystem_en&utm_content=
They are already much cheaper than the factory GPS, have the best hardware, software and map options (incl. multiple topo's) IMHO. Go to their "Ecosystem" page.
I have their free phone app which has a lot of the features of their GPS units.
