Mine were the ones replaced. The other ones lasted 3 weeks and maybe 3 washes/rains before they started. They replace them and you can see they are noticeably thicker coating. That being said my replacements have started again on 2 of them... i think i may just get some matte black paint and touch them up in those spots. i suspect i'll have to replace them in 4 years because they'll have rusted so bad here in MN winters. I'm not going thru returning them again. Cost me $35 to return ship them but when they sent me the replacements they 2 day shipped them so that was nice. They were great to deal with and i'm happy with that but the steps are a little disappointing to deal with this but idk that i'm gonna replace them unless i get their V3 version where they drop down a little further. i have the V2 and they are still a little high for me.
If you paid $35 for the v2 steps to be returned, the OP will be paying close to $75 for the full-length steps.

I've been really happy with mine and they are at the beach 3 days a week. But I also figure that part of my maintenance regimen will be to touch-up metal parts periodically.

I donā€™t have an issue with touch ups, but the car has been almost undriven with the new steps since my wife takes my Tesla to work 3/5 days and before that it was almost undriven primarily since she is off in the summers with the kids.

Any one else having rust stains on their IAG steps already? These are starting to pop up on every seam that isnā€™t welded.

I'd contact them and tell them what happened. I'd be disappointed if mine were to do that.

Watching to see if IAG responds in this thread. I have the full-length steps and they have been on for a month now and have been in rainstorms. No rust for me (yet)

If your waiting, then why didn't you tag them? Vendor's don't peruse every thread title to see if there is an issue. @IAG Performance

Thanks, I already email yā€™all yesterday morning when I saw it. I honestly donā€™t see myself paying to ship them back and waiting for a new set if itā€™s just going to happen again though.

Im leaning towards the thought this is a design flaw over this can be fixed with a new set.

I'm not sure why as i'm not an engineer but i'd be curious why they didn't weld the plate all the way around the tubes that may help with the issue. It seems to happen almost exclusively where the plate and tube meet.

Damn, I've had my V1's for months, driven Vancouver (Raincouver) to Moab, to Kanab and back home, seen snow, rain and desert heat, mine are fine, favorite mod yet...

I'm having similar issues with full length steps. One of two is bleeding rust where the unwelded tube and plate meet. IAG has been super responsive and eager to make things right. Nice design and fab, just need to get the finish figured out.

Not having anything like this? Iā€™m running mudflaps and donā€™t have any major rock chips. Iā€™m surprised they are looking like this after 5 months. @IAG Performance these are V2ā€™s from late March

From what Iā€™ve read they strengthened their powdercoating since my order. Hoping I just have one of the prior batches!

Be thankful as the steps are catching the rocks. Some of you will bitch about anything. Since you drive with gravel in your travel, you should be expecting the rock chips on the steps. The powder coat isn't bullet-proof. Get yourself some rattle-can and take care of it.

Thanks for your input. I asked if it was normal for anyone else who purchased them. Are you experiencing this? Iā€™m aware they increased how much powdercoating they put on their steps since my purchase because of this issue and was curious if mine was in that batch. Theyā€™re flaking in areas they shouldnā€™t be.
