Get them. While I was able to get everything needed for under $200, it's still a pain in the ass doing it the right way.

60A breaker to an 8 gang fuse/relay distribution panel to the switches. Then a 40A breaker to a relay to another relay for the air compressor since the fuse/relay panel only had terminals up to 30A.

I don't fully hate it because I'm an electrician and I don't dabble much in small electronics like this so I'm learning, but I'd still rather not be sweating for half the day.

Oh and I took a flat piece of steel from a bracket and welded it to the top of the battery hold down, spray painted high temp paint, and it makes for an excellent mounting position for breakers. Before spending money on a nice aftermarket mount, consider this because it looks quite nice and is ideal in placement as it as close to the battery as possible.

What is that last picture? That looks like when I tried to rewire my house and there was a funny smell and things went dark.

Looks like he welded a piece of steel plate to the top of the battery tie down.

Always open to critique, what specifically do you mean?

Head spinning. No brainer to anyone who had to fish wires through an a pillar...
Yes, this was meant for those that have not done that and were on the fence.

Agreed. For the minimal upfront cost you get the factory-installed levers that go click, the nifty and ergonomic enclosure, all the wiring magic. Ready to go from day 1.

Or go through the time, struggle and expense to do something aftermarket and spend half a day cussing, sweating, skinning up your forearms to still not have the clicky levers (although Auxbeam makes some pretty cool panels).

Or you could go the 1978 El Camino route and just punch holes in your interior plastics with a chisel (or drywall saw works in a pinch) and install light up rocker switches. Crookedly. Wired-in using twist nuts and speaker wire remnants.

Choose wisely. We don't need to see a new thread titled "Wired up my ditch lights and now my radio doesn't work and horn blows until the battery dies"

*Not directed at OP. His install does the job and looks better than 95% of most DIY stuff I've seen.

Get 'em. Cheap, easy-button done. *Plus warrantied with your 3/36.

some will say they'd rather have the spot to store their sunglasses. I thought it was well worth the money for cleanly installed switches and the wiring to the 4 corners of the Brocno.

Visor clips for your sunglasses are cheap and easy to find. OEM Aux switches are worth their weight in gold…
