Installed lights under the hood (KC Rock Lights)

I installed some KC rock lights under the hood. They are bright and work well especially for the cost. Wasn’t too expensive since I bought them on Black Friday. I wired them to my switch pro.

Since I didn’t have a hood insulation pad , I ordered some cheap knock off from amazon to hide the wires. Don’t mind the wires on the driverside, I took the pictures before I cleaned it up.

I imagine it wouldn’t be hard to wire them to a proper switch that turns them on/off when the hoods opened/closed.

my buddy put a push button so it would turn on with the hood open. He said it wasn’t to bad just need to set it to the right hight to make sure it turns off when the hood is closed. I might go that route once I need the space in the switch pro.

Nice mod. If your Bronco has the hood sensor, you could use it and a relay to trigger the lights. I may try that when I get time for another project.

My engine bay light included the switch as you mentioned. My total cost was $15 + 1 washer that I had on hand.

Nice mod. I have a set of bed lights I bought for my ranger that I never installed. Now you got me thinking of trying to use them under the hood.
