@BravoV4 Do you all have some automated system that automatically pulls new vins and posts them on the website?

I'm assuming this is what is happening at dealers all over.

Its a win win for them. They get people interested in the possibility of a new bronco on the lot, only to find out they can't have it and they can sell them something else or get them to order a bronco.

Should I make a new thread about this? Something doesn’t seem right that they are asking me to “reserve this vehicle”

@jonwithanelcamino Yes, in our inventory management screen once a VIN is generated for something that is getting built for us it is automatically shot up onto our respective website. We can hide what we want from customers and dealers if it's product we don't want to attract attention to.

I just got a reply from the dealer....I will let you know as soon as it arrives so that you can come in for a test drive. Would you like me to have a specialist call you about reserving this vehicle? The programs and incentives are aggressive right now and we are able to lock in the savings today for you.
Wow! Looks like someone might get lucky from the sounds of it.

I’m not sure what these vehicles are, but I think we are gonna see a lot of Broncos on dealers lots for sale, well, at least a lot more than people thought. There will be a lot of gnashing of teeth on these pages.

If dealers reserved one for themselves and then decided to flip it instead of keeping it, how is that different than the threads on these pages on private buyers doing the same thing?

Now, if they had their employees also do this with the intent of flipping them, that would be shitty, but that is gonna happen also. We’ve had dealers ( I’m looking at you Atlanta) on these pages say they would do exactly that.

Only Ford can resolve it, a suggestion would be to reduce the 20% threshold. Dealers that planned to do it and converted reservations artificially, playing the 20% game would then get penalized for bad practices.

Yep I pointed this out several times as far back as when the reservation system first became active. Ford will try in a reasonable manner to fill reservations, but money talks and Ford isn't going to religiously adhere to reservations just to make every single reservation holder happy. The wording in the original reservation documentation indicated as much.

Why is it a big deal if a dealer had one of their reps get in line and reserve a FE? Unless they exceed the 20% rule, they are doing nothing wrong. Hell a dealer like Granger could have a couple hundred and not exceed their limit. At 195,000 orders, there can be almost 40,000 Broncos on dealers lots before the last order is fulfilled and no rule breaking.

If there are shenanigans at play, that's a different story.

Dealers are in business to make money. I would hope the rep who reserved it at least gets a bonus out of it.

Exactly, 20% is to much wiggle room.

They are probably just posting them to peek interest. Try emailing them and asking how are they able to sell them. Their response will probably be like they are already reserved or something.

It does appear that Varsity Ford has removed them from their website.
Their phone was probably ringing off the hook on folks trying to buy them.
