I tried searching for any relevant information on the forum; but couldn't find too much other than the tire guide that addresses the suspension (but not the rim).

I'm curious what sized tires everyone would upgrade to on the stock Black Diamond steelies. I'd like to upgrade to either 33 or 35 inch tires. From the little I could find; it sounds like I could fit 285/70R17 on the stock rims. Would 35s be too large for the BD stock rim?

I'm torn between keeping the stock rims, or upgrading the rims with the tires. I'll also more than likely install the 4WP leveling kit regardless of the 33 or 35 inch tires.

Please post any pictures of examples of upgraded steelie tires if you have them!

295/70r17s look great on the black dimond, they’re like 33.5 inches
I think this may be the front runner for me, after comparing them to 280/70R17 on tiresize.com!

Pretty much 11.5" wide is the widest I'd go on the stock steelies, which are only 7.5 inches wide.
Thanks for the information! That gives me a good number to stay under for the width.

These are 35x10.5 Kendas. Only other concern as you go wider is if you have problems rubbing with the stock backspacing. I know some have done it with minimal rubbing

I went on tirerack and just listed the specs for each size. My list only went 33" as I wasn't interest in anything bigger at the time.

With 10.5 width how much tire is sticking out past the stock flares? Also if you happen to know the width measurement of the flare that would be a huge help!

@Jed The tire does not stick out past the flare. It is essentially the same width as the stock black diamond tire. Stock tire is a 265 which equals 10.4" wide

Picture in the garage is stock tires. Other picture is with the 35's.
