2.3 no issues here. Will say it does drive differently and takes a little time to adapt to it. Heavy vehicle and active suspension. Little slower to stop and has a little dive.

If you're coming from a suv or something that is better mannered it will feel way different.

My base SAS brakes are squishy and move towards the firewall during a stop. Dealer said normal??? I been driving trucks all my life and never had such crappy brake feel!!

I don't like my brakes at all.
A lot of pedel travel, start/stop at a light is bad.
While at a light if the engine stops and comes back on, I always have to press harder or I creep forward.

Not normal. Have the dealership bleed the brake lines.
mine did it and made brakes much better.

From my understanding the 4 pot and V6 engines have different brakes. The 4 cylinder ones are brake boosted.

For those of you saying you have zero brake fade, are you driving the 6 cylinder engine?

I got used to the 2.3 manual in my Badlands and at a stop I hardly use the brakes because there is no push from an auto transmission.

When we got the Wildtrak, I had to relearn to hold the brake harder at a stop. The ASS would kick on and send the Wildtrak forward. I could guess that the 2.3 auto would the same.

The 4Runner we traded for the Wildtrak did not this, but it did not have ASS or as low of first gear.
