I am. Look in prior posts in this topic before it went totally nuclear.
it’s not my specialty but I’ve done dozens of Jeep tops, 2 door, 4door, freedom tops.
min every case the owner wanted to leave the inside the stock light tan/off white which is the absolute best option.
ive painted and lined them. No complaints, no problems, no anything negative. First one is going on 6 years old now, no issues.
it can be done. Haters are gonna hate.

"If I'm spending 50k on a Bronco, I expect ... yada yada ". That's not exactly the type of crowd who will paint their top white in the garage. (Even though a hardtop is actually quite easy to paint even with a roller, due to the texture surface.)

Jeepers buy +50K Rubicon Recons and modify them every day.
To the point where entire companies make their living off of mods. ?‍

I do wish people that wanted a white top could get one direct from the factory. I also think there are many overreactions to the top in general. I’m coming from a view point that this vehicle is super cool but I held very little in the way of expectations for singular design details. I think people will come around to the grey top.

Can you post up what a painted textured Jeep top looks like? Not a baited question, if you have a recipe for painting a MIC top I'm sure more than just me is interested.

Looks good, you need to rent out a shop in close proximity to Granger Ford in Iowa. If you could guarantee your work and offer a good price to paint a MIC top in white or black you'd probably have a year or two of steady clients. If Ford decides to not offer white I'm only 4 hours south of you, might be worth a trip if the price was right.

A textured top has to be sanded with a good quality scotchbrite by hand, every square inch of it. You can’t sand it with a DA due to the texture.
If the MIC are smooth (which I doubt), it would be an easier process.
This one is painted with Kirker Hot Rod Black single stage. Still looks as good today as it did when I painted it.
Good thing about it is you can wax it and it won’t get any more glossy than it is.
I just do this on the side. My main income would be difficult to replace with the benefits and 401k it offers.
Typically I restore a car or two per year and fit stuff like this in between, or on a weekend.

And prices, depending on what you want (I can do any color or candy, lace [I’ve done several cars but never seen it on a Jeep top. Probably for good reason!?] ) would start at $500 for a 2 door std top (it would look just like the one I posted), $700 for 4 door.
All materials and paint included.
Drop it off, pick it up. Done deal.

white top only probably won’t sell as much as.......
a package called ”vintage”. White roof,mirror cap and front grill.

Yes it is an OBX BUT what I noticed is the dark brown arm rest

I don’t understand why gray or black top was even an option yet white isn’t standard???? Feels like Ford is working in opposite land on so many different aspects of this truck that reality is becoming stranger than fiction.

White should be standard across the board.
