Yeah, I’ve done the search here and in the Manual - no joy.
When going out fly fishing with substantial risk of getting wet, I’d like to be able to lock my Bronco with the blade (mechanical) key and not take the electrical fob with me. Any way to accomplish this?

…..and at some point I will get the keyless entry pad programmed, thank you very much.
Would you take your phone with you, which also has the ability to unlock your doors? Just curious.

put the fob in a ziplock bag and secure it in your pocket?
That’s what I do….but it just seems reasonable to be able to use the blade key to lock/ walk away/ and return to unlock…..I must be missing something….or the FOMOCO engineers are.

You are manually locking your door, not activating your power locks. Why would you assume this would lock all doors?
Not assuming anything (I’ve learned not to), just proposing it would make sense that it would lock all doors…it does on my F250, my Audi, etc.

Ok, so did some testing and here is my solution. Remove the battery from your key fob and lock the door using the lock/unlock button on the door, or use your key fob to lock before taking out the battery. Close it up, no double honk, all doors are locked. When you return, and use your key to open the door, there is a warning saying start your vehicle to stop the alarm from sounding. You have to be fast in getting that battery back in the fob. Worked like a charm.

Yea, I sorta never understood ford putting a key pad on my Bronco's door if the fob opens the truck. Like those have said above, if the truck remains locked with the FOB inside, I can understand it then, better.

Now go check your other doors….I find them still unlocked.
Fair enough. I actually expected to be able to turn and hold a few seconds to lock all doors like so many other cars, but sure enough no go.

Why don't you just press the lock button inside the drivers door before you close up? Just make sure that blade is in your pocket first...

It does... you can leave the fob in the car and lock with the key pad.

OK, here’s the workaround:
- put the fob in a Faraday pouch in the vehicle
- with driver’s door open, lock other doors with switch on door panel (interior)
- close and lock the driver’s door with the blade key…

you can now walk away without alarms or double beeps, without concerns of getting the blade key submerged.

(Hoping that once I get the wireless key pad programmed, the fob will be superfluous…….anyone confirm this?)
