Hello Fellow 6Gers!
Like a lot of you I am not interested in gawdy mud flaps that cost $400(or even $200 for that matter). With that in mind I set out to build my own solution, and I think I've come up with a winner. To be acceptable to me a mud flap had to fit the following criteria:
1. It CANNOT be huge and gawdy. I cannot stand these aftermarket companies sticking their brand all over MY Bronco. My Bronco is NOT your billboard.
2. They must be removable with the fender flares.
3. They have to do the job.
Here's what I did: I got me some $10 flaps from Fleet Farm as guinea pigs. I installed stainless nut-serts for mounting points. I used stainless thumb screws so I can remove them as needed. Please see pictures. It'll make more sense.
Public Notice to aftermarket companies: this Bronco owner will never put a product on his Bronco that does your advertising for you. Ever. Additionally if you think mud flaps are worth $400, you can kick rocks.
