Lux charging pad not charging iPhone 11 Pro properly and phone gets very hot

I have a 2023 Bronco and picked it up on June 24, 2023.

When using the wireless charger with my iPhone 14 Pro:

• Works 1/2 the time
• Doesn't work 1/2 the time
• WHEN it shows connected, does not actually charge the phone. I had my phone on the charger for a 4 hour road trip and it never actually increased the battery %
• It just makes the iPhone REALLY hot and the iPhone gave a warning that the phone was over heating

My iPhone 14 Pro works flawlessly on Apple's MagSafe charger. It charges, never gets hot. It "just works".

The Ford Qi charger is worthless, unfortunately. Which is a shame given that I paid extra for Lux to get it.

Mine said they can’t take the TSB # and had to diagnose and look it up themselves. Either way they got it done but super bizarre…

Strange, a friends iPhone 14 charges great while sitting on my Escalades pad but overheats on their Apple puck at home. My 13 works fine on the car pad and their Apple puck. Could be a combination of issues.

So your charger was actually fixed after the TSB procedure?

I think it actually charges now rather than holding it at a set percentage when connected to wireless CarPlay albeit slowly.

The phone still heats up like crazy. My wife’s Google pixel has no issues though.

So my 2dr manual with Lux had same issue. That wireless phone charger has been my favorite item in my bronco, throw the phone in and it charges like it is hooked up to tesla charger. I get a system update notification around the same time my iphone updated and then I noticed that it was really hot, like sitting in the sun hot and it would charge. The charge just stayed the same. I took it to dealer and they said they had to update some modules software. Now it charges with no heat, but it charges at about 20% as fast as it use to. Dealer said it was iphone 12 and 13 related. So I actually think it is part of apples planned obsolescence. Who knows, but my favorite option with the Lux pkg is now on par with that stupid ebrake.
